Anyone seen any reasonable digital prices for this?

I forgot about that. I saw cdkeys still sold codes, but it must just be old stock then.

I still love that game on GameCube (recently completed it again on Wii U). There's something about these nicely rendered cel shaded games and a nice framerate that just makes them a joy to look at versus a more, er, "cinematic" "current/next/new" gen experience .

I think it's the first 60fps 3D Zelda, and I agree that it deffo makes a difference.

Did you ever play the Zelda part of Nintendo Land? I remember how it felt like another notch up on SS when it came to the motion controls and I put that down to Nintendo Land being 60fps.

You could try the two voucher thing you get with Nintendo Switch Online which I still haven't signed up for yet so may be tempted.

Was wind waker really not 60fps on gamecube original? Well I never.

Edit: oh, running it higher than 30fps in emulation breaks the game. It's a marvel that 1st party GC games so consistently targeted performance that I remember some of them running twice as good as they actually did

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

If you're willing to swap region you can knock a few quid off:

That sounds great. The gamefeel is the thing I'm most looking forward to revisiting. I can't think of another game I so wanted back in my hands again.

Thanks. Probably better to go with GG's voucher suggestion, as you get some good gold points back with that too.

You get good points like this as well, you just have to spend them in the same region - Norwegian Jenuall has got gooseberry fool loads of points now!

I don't want to admit how many times I've watched the A Hero Rises trailer...

I really like how it's cut together - the use of the black screen-space as Link falls to put the 'Before Link Awakened'. The haunting choral Ballad of the Godesses (female synth choir, like an inverse of OoT's Temple of Time). The cuts between Link and Zelda as they both fall in this dream-like black realm, which segues into the actual fall moment. The music sync of the Link Getting Ready bit before the main Overworld theme and gameplay montage kicks in. That Lizalfos shoulder stretch! The cut between the Scorpion's entrance and a juicy hit on it. The cut between Ghiramin's click and the Fire Dragon burst. Then straight into the Water Dragon's entrance. The visual rhyme between spinning Fi and the spinning Wing crest thing. The gate of time sync with the cymbal crash. That quick cut to a distant, hazy Zelda before that black screen quick cut (a killer!).

Then ending on that scene between Link and Zelda with her sweetly sung rendition of Ballad of the Goddess (ouch my heart!). And that final Master Sword glint-sound is so crisp and clear and stylish, and really cements the theme of this being the origins of it all.

I loves it!

And now I'm resorting to watching reaction videos to share and multiply and reflect my appreciation for it! As this girl (I've no idea who she is) says about the ending scene:

'if you know that scene, you know'

Anyway watching the trailer so much has also made me appreciate the Hookshot first-person aim in Zeldas (or the bow or the slingshot etc). Then there's stuff like the Beetle-flying (or seagull flying in WW). I've mentioned it before but I really think that these small instances of camera change gives both an enmeshed, immersion to the adventure through the world - bringing you in close and not keeping you at a slight distance from proceedings - but also kind of fleshes out the whole dimensions of the thing with the different perspectives, like 3D made a bit more 3D or something. More full and whole.

Anyway my point is I missed this a bit in BotW where all the powers happen at a distance from Link, and the camera is always in third-person.

I'm sure I read the other day about some guy who pre-ordered Zelda SS using the voucher option and because their Nintendo Online Sub ran out his pre-order was cancelled due to needing an active sub to use it :dread:

It just has way too much filler.

This desert boat was the best bit in the game by a country mile.

This is the only Zelda game i've owned but didn't finish. I believe I got to the final boss, realised it was the same little knobcheese again and it was just more difficult controls, turned it off and watched the ending on Youtube. I don't regret it.

It was a good game, but the controls were awful and ruined all of the fun for me, if it had been the same Wii motion as Twilight princess it would have been far far better.

I won't be buying this unless I find myself in a situation where I'll be alone with my switch for a long time, like when I bought breathe of the wild when in Falklands.

Does anyone know when the review embargo lifts for this? Obviously we don’t need reviews at it’s a remaster but it’d still be nice to read thoughts of the port, see if there were any other QOL changes made that they’ve not mentioned.

Likely Thursday afternoon

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Gives me something to read while waiting to play it then, cheers.
