* Not totes true. ** Ends March 2017.
MK8 ending now?
How much fiddling around must I do to get it online?
Just because a few people are being traitors and moving to Switch doesn't mean we have to stop doing Kart Mondays, not that I have been on the last few weeks like but yeah it will stay alive as long as there are people to play. Also it means we may get a podium or two

Is there a specific issue you are having? I know the first phase can be a bit trippy
Just don't know how to damage him in the first part gonna have another go this afternoon.
Take note of your surroundings. They should be familiar.
Cheers TWA now in Hyrule castle those 2 steel soldier's are a pain in the butt stuck on them but just need to sort out some decent health and i will be past them.
Remember if you're buying Skyward Sword, it needs a Wii remote with Motion Plus, right? I've never used my Wii U for backwards compatibility but I presume this is still the case?
Yeah it is and as such I think ill give it a miss, hate the nunchuck.
Spent night with my Wii U. I love it. I bought Mario 3D and it's great. The games look stunning, a concern of mine was going from X1 back a generation but with Nintendo games they look pristine.
No idea what resolution the games are but the Wii U itself picked up that my TV was 1080p. Wind Waker is simply glorious, caught myself smiling a few times at just how gorgeous it is. Mario 3D too was gleaming and Mariokart 8, good lord it's stunning. Yet to play Twilight Princess HD but so far so good. Friday getting Breath of the Wild will be the icing on the cake. It will also most likely bring a halt to my purchases on Wii U but I'm happy with my lot, hours of fun to be had. Absolutely chuffed. Nintendo.
Get Super Mario Maker Photek. Super strawberry floating Mario Maker. Easily one of the best games on the U (THE best for me). Oh and Splatoon is great as well.
I think Skyward Sword is on the eShop too if you decide to give it a shot. It's a very divisive game though. Some love it, some.... not so much.
You will need Wii motion plus if getting it from eshop. The Wii U Wii remotes (say it slowly) should have it built in.

Excellent. Always here to help. Love the Zant fight.
I wouldn't miss Skyward Sword just because of the nunchuck. After all, it's just a control stick in one hand. I actually quite liked having the two parts of the control separate and being able to move hands individually whilst playing, rather than have them clamped closely together.
I loved SS too. It mixed up the Zelda formula a little, had some great dungeons/bosses (possibly the best in the series) and I thought the motion controls worked and felt fresh.
Some people didn't get on with the controls however. I guess this is because you can tell someone to push a button and there's only one way to do it. If you tell someone to perform a specific gesture or motion, it's much harder to accurately describe how to do it/what is going wrong in text.
I don't think the motion controls were borked, more that it's harder for players to pick the correct motion up. I couldn't do the skydiving at all, but then just found out how the game asked me to move the remote and it was easy. But those first few attempts were so frustrating.
It's definitely worth playing though, as the motion controls make it unlike any other entry in the series.
And Nintendo games don't date as badly due to the art style, normally. They don't go for super-realism and so that cartoony-look doesn't age as badly. I haven't played Wind Waker HD, but when I went through the GC version again in 2011 it still looked great. Nintendo games are often quite fluid, stable and run smooth, so they aren't as jarring to go back to after a couple of years.
Conversely, when I go from the PS4 to the PS3, it often takes a while to get used to the downgrade and, often, the framerate feels jerky too, those first few times.
