I'd done it before but forgotten the combination. Cheers

I've always bounced off the Oracle games. Links Awakening is still top tier (Replayed it a couple of years ago), but I never seem to quite click with the others.

You doing another run through of all the Zelda games? I've still not gotten past that room in Adventure of Link on the NES.

Currently playing LA again :datass:

I've got ages on VC 3ds but I didn't get far. I've not played either before so may return to that after finishing LA.

I didn't do a run through of them all, just finished the ones I'd never done before. Think a run through would hit the rails at Adventure of Link (or Spirit Tracks)
Just with the rerelease of Links Awakening fancied playing it and thought about giving another go for some that I've not played for years (16/17 years since I played these :dread:). Also 2D Zelda is mostly

Fair enough. :D

Just talking about it again though makes me want to dig the NES out and relive the horror (If my save is still there). I shall overcome! :slol:

I hooked up my NES last night and I checked and my AOL save is still there....

That said I think I need to have a fresh playthrough. Not sure I can just pick up where I left off to be honest, as there's just too much that comes down to skill and practice.

I may do a full Zelda, original hardware run at some point. I'd just need to push through the NES pain barrier to get to the sweet, sweet gameplay that follows.

I've never made it far at all in AOL. Got through a few caves, visited a few towns but seem to recall not knowing how to get past some soldier enemy in a palace.

Back in the day I would have probably persevered with it, but these days there's too much else to be getting on with to want to bang my head against mid-80s game design like this!

I think I made it to the 6th dungeon when I was playing it 3 years ago and it's a disgustingly obtuse game. That said there is enjoyment to be had from working your way through it and there is a satisfaction in beating a dungeon/boss that you don't really get in the same way anymore. This is old-school Nintendo hard.

It's doable though and it didn't take me too long to get as far as I did, even without the save states that would make the game pretty simple otherwise.

Yeah it really is quite an obtuse beast. I do wonder how much the original game manual might have helped in that respect? Playing on modern systems without access to the manuals really hurts certain games of this vintage!

I may return to it one day, it's one of the few blots on my "main series" completion list along with Skyward Sword

Hmm, never did finish those!
Anyway, just started Wind Waker HD for the first time yesterday. Got a Tingle Bottle to enable me to communicate with everyone on Miiverse so I'm looking forward to checking that out :toot:

I know several GRcadians are streaming different Zelda playthroughs as well at the moment. Saw Cheeky doing Twilight Princess and Seven doing a Majora's Mask randomiser :dread:, think Cora just finished Majora too

Also someone's doing a soon to be taken down mod for BotW. Still doesn't add dungeons though.

I'll be streaming the Oracle games shortly, just had to take a wee break from the series after Majora as we'd been doing it non-stop for two months.

I love gyro in BotW but I play with both joy-cons apart (and it feels great when used to it!)

Guys what's the best Zelda trailer ever? Is it:

(Yes for heart)

Or is it

(Yes for Epic)

Or is it

(Yes for reaction and Stylish Sword Re-Sheath)

Or is it

(Yes for Spin Attack/Music timing, even though it's the same song used later in Twilight Princess trailer above... If it ain't broke!)

Or is it

(Yes for classic EVEN THOUGH IT'S THAT SAME CONAN THE BARBARIAN TUNE AGAIN IF IT AIN'T BROKE)

Or is it something else?

Clearly this is the best piece of Zelda promo material:
