Going to open a can of worms here but I’m one those milk in first people, like, what is the big deal? I’ve tried it both ways and literally cannot tell the difference. By putting in the milk first I can see exactly how much to use. Unless there is some science I’m missing, I don’t get the snobbery.

Milk first soaks the leaves in the bag making them clump as there isn't enough milk to float the bag and let them move freely, when you add the water they remain partially clumped reducing surface area for infusion.

it also affects the environmental temperature of the brewing environment.

Like if you're using a teapot for example you should put some hot water in first and swirl it around to heat up the teapot, tip that used water away, then add your tea (bags/leaves) before adding your hot water to brew with.

Yorkshire tea or PG, strong, small splash of milk and no sugar.

I also drink a lot of peppermint/fennel tea but mainly for its stomach settling properties (I get a lot of trapped wind due to being permanently sat down).

Lyons Tea, half a sugar and a wee bit of milk. :wub:

Used to be a Yorkshire Tea lover, now PG Tips Pyramids I personally find nicer. Currently working my way through a box of Twinnings English Breakfast (Ordinary, Tesco didn't give me the Strong ones I ordered the banana splits)

Milk and 2 sugars. Usually around 4 - 5 cups a day. In fact I'm going to have my second one of the day now and get dunking some McVities Chocy Digestives.

Yes but you only do it to a) mask the taste of the horribly cheap tea you bought and b) to load up on calories because you can't afford three meals a day.
