Little Town Hero (Uneasy Lies The Head That Wears The Town) | Game Freak RPG, Switch, October 16

eShop game, but with a fine pedigree behind it. Game by Game Freak, music by Toby Fox. Releases in a very busy period, but I’m keen. Anyone else keen?

I wonder how Toby Fox ended up working on it, that's pretty cool.

The music was easily the best part of undertale, so Toby Fox composing for this is A+ news

Toby Fox sounds like a Nintendo character any way so the match up was clearly destined to happen!

The music is brilliant. While the pixel art is good, much like other aspects of the game I found it too derivative of mother/earthbound (I'd played Earthbound only a few months before trying Undertale). Otherwise I just didn't find the game that funny and the humour appeared to be a big part of the appeal. I liked the battle system's puzzle-like approach to working out how not to kill enemies, but it became somewhat repetitive. I dropped the game at what felt like a way in but before any of the system-messing came in, and I don't feel compelled to retreated what I did play to push through to that.

A conversation for a different topic perhaps, but the excellent music was on par with the storytelling and character work in that game. You heartless monster.

The storytelling and characters were good, great even. The music was better.

Watching the LTH trailer again I can hear those Fox vibes. They’re good vibes.

Like I'm sure it's worthy of a lot of the praise it gets, but when I found Papyrus more boring than funny I realised the game probably wasn't for me, even if the whole genre deconstruction and concept of playing with the medium is really appealing. I think I like hearing about what the game does more than actually playing it!

But yes the musical talents of Toby Fox should be a big advert for this game.

I too found Papyrus boring at first. At first. He, and most of the characters, have hidden depths.

Got this preordered and predownloaded ready to go! Been really looking forward to this game since it was shown off last year at E3.

Kinda surpirsed it's a e-shop only title as I always expected it to come to retail

The reviews for this vary a lot - really don't know whether to pick it up now or not! Anyone got it yet?

No I’ve not got it either, I probably would have if I didn’t have Ori and The Witcher 3 currently on the go, with Luigi’s Mansion 3 in a couple of weeks, then another couple of games 2 more weeks down the line. Might grab it next year or when it goes on sale as it did look kind of interesting. Just a shame they’ve released it when there’s so much other good stuff coming out either side of it.
