Instead of "Dee do de de, dee do de de" (which I just had to Google), my brother used to sing "free ya willy".

Because of that I can't help singing my brother's version even though I know he was just messing around.

My friend's mum thought the middle-8 to that song went "be my banana, rump me, pump me".

And did you pump her?

The theme song from the Bond movie Licence to Kill.

Gladys Knight always sang 'licence to kilt'

Seems rather fitting when you consider Bond's scottish heritage.

I can't be the only one who thought it was
"Money for nothing, and your cheques for free"

"wake me up for my cocoa"

That's what three year old me thought George Michael was singing.

Yes, some of the lyrics might be considered a little bit un PC by today's standards.

Here's another that I still struggle with

"I guess the way in Africa"

Classic Toto.

There's also a lot of songs with utterly unintelligible lyrics, like this 90's classic

I can actually tell what some of the lyrics are now but I didn't have a clue in 1994 when I first heard it.

Just remembered when my wife was doing medicine at Uni, Rick O'Shea was in her year (this one if anyone watched Scrum V in Wales https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/rugby-union/29468997 )

When Titanium by David Guetta came on at social events they all use to point at him and shout RICK O'SHEA in the bit that goes "Ricocheeeeet"

Found out a new one for me.

Naïve by The Kooks: I always sang 'The two of us it may be, she's still out to get me', but today I discovered it's actually 'True or false it may be...'

Unbelievable, Jeff.

I defy anyone to tell me that they legitimately correctly heard the lyrics to Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind back in the day.

The only strawberry floating line I heard right was 'SHE COMES ROUND AND SHE GOES DOWN ON ME' a comfortable 5 years before I knew what that meant so guess which line 12 year old Skarjo would bellow at the top of his lungs when it came on breakfast radio.

Awkward strawberry floating Pop Tarts they were.
