PostMad Max: Fury Road. The best reviewed summer blockbuster of 2015.....all time??

Metacritic 88
rottentomatoes 98%
9.3

I've always been a fan of the Mad Max films (even the first half of Thunderdome). Mad Max 2 is one of my all time favorites, and judging by the reviews this looks set to blow it out of the water. So I'm going to see this on Saturday, and I can't strawberry floating wait!!! Anyone else excited by this?
Hell I'm even re-installing Rage to get me in the mood for this as I type.

Seeing this Friday night. Can't strawberry floating wait. A proper 18-rated Summer Blockbuster. They don't come around so often.

It's 18 rated?!

The trailers really sold me on it, the reviews cemented that fact.

Blockbuster of the summer

I must say, the trailers make it look absolutely insane. I haven't seen explosions that cool since...

...nope, dunno.

I'm really hoping this is going to be one of the few films that actually delivers this summer. I have faith in George Miller :datass:

Been looking forward to this but the real hype began when I saw one review call Max a "macho Mr Bean"

Yeah, a trailer that depicts an action movie looking like an action movie. What's that all about?

Just got back from a 9:00pm showing in Cardiff. Completely nuts but strawberry floating wonderful. Pretty much full throttle craziness from start to finish with the odd tiny break to catch your breath. Some of the stunts are just so wildly over the top and is packed with all these bizarre and freakish characters. There's a scavenger who just plays an electric flame-thrower guitar atop a vehicle, but looking like a humanoid creature out of a del toro film. There's so much to take in sometimes in terms of on screen action, but it looks so damn crisp, it's quite stunning sometimes. The sounds effect and music as well, just relentless. This is one I'll probably see again very soon.

I have never seen a Mad Max film, but am very interested in this one given the reviews and impressions from you guys. Is it noob-friendly? Will I miss out on anything, being unfamiliar with the previous entries?

Apparently it's a soft-reboot, so you (we) should be fine.
