Well, excuse me about not knowing the Detective had two confirmed mafia at the time.

Since this game is over, I'm going to point out that was the most laughably biased game of Mafia ever on this forum. The Mafia got seven free kills, meaning 60% of the Mafia's work was done for them. This loss was 20% bad play by villagers (Ob Bob should have roleclaimed yesterday, especially) and 80% Herbi's stupid decision to kill off two players at the start of the game and the Wheel of Bullshit Deaths, which was hands down the worst idea I've ever seen in any forum game.

Bad play by me? The guy who got 3 mafia and the nurse in five detects? You're having a strawberry floating laugh. I couldn't have role claimed with just two of the mafia.

It wouldn't be 60% bullshit.

Had you roleclaimed yesterday, we would probably have lynched off two of the mafia and could probably have worked out the other two by their reactions. Since you left it until we were relying on everyone being active (wrong) and were hoping that the mafia couldn't convince one innocent (wrong), we were screwed. Still doesn't make Herbi's actively screwing over the innocents any better however.

You made a great play TBH. You would have single handedly (more so than most detectives/seer do anyway) won the game.

Fwiw the citizens' lack of willing to do anything was what lost them the game.

Day 8

Image

A man sits alone at his dining room table spinning around a revolver. It comes to a stop, he spins it again. There is no expression on this mans face, he just stares at the revolver rotating on it's barrel, pointing at him, pointing at the door, at him, at the door.

As the clock strikes eight his focus on the gun is temporarily broken and he glances at the time with a smile. He hears footsteps outside his door approaching his house on the street outiside.

"Right on time" he says with a laugh.

The man picks up his overcoat from the chair he was sitting on, adjusts his suit and tie stands facing the door, he holds the revolver in his left hand and reaches to the mantelpiece with his right and takes a swig of bourbon. As he places the bottle onto the table the door to his property flys of it's hinges and into the threshold of his home.

5 men stand at the door, he looks at one of them with a queried look on his face.

"Gentlemen"

DAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKA

No sooner had the words left his mouth the man was riddled with bullet holes propelling him backwards into the fireplace. As the metal rain stopped he hovered for a second, still standing in defiance and then fell backwards into the fire.

Oblomov Boblomov was the Dead Cadeby Detective

The Mafia had won

No, strawberry float off was it. It was that ridiculously bullshit Mafia biased event that did it. Well done, I hope you enjoy your hollow victory. You clearly didn't have any form of proper code working and the fact all the citizens were either god killed or killed in that event, you didn't deserve that at all.

Cheers to the guys who played the game in the spirit it was intended. Sorry to Denster and CDL who got bumped off straight away. I was never going to run the game with 20 players so it was either knock off 2 and hope to give the Citizens some leg to run off (As aaron pointed there were ways I could have done this better) or start the game with less and no Mafia kill.

And in case anyone's in any doubt...

I think the Mafia played pretty well, because their job is incredibly hard. Luckily for them, half the citizens didn't bother playing (dickheads, the lot of them) and we had possibly the second worst play in this type of game's GRcade history (after Huw when he shot pyxl) when DarkRitual made the critical decision to vote for me. No offence, DR, but seriously, what the strawberry float were you derping? I know you're a good player normally - hence me detecting you first - but what the strawberry float man?

Nah StayDead, see, the negative play of the civilians basically made it impossible for us to really do anything. Fatal Exception gave us an out but still didn't lead to the lynching or the panic we needed to start things going. Similar with Delusibeta, but then MC broke his news and we really should have lost from then on.

You may say the Russian Roulette ruined things, and Herbi could and should have put less people up in it, but you can't blame him for wanting to make his game; a game.

Hollow victory it may be, but the fact you're whining so much over being robbed over as equally a hollow victory of doing absolutely nothing whatsoever and waiting for the detective to do all the leg work, is frankly ridiculous.

Yeah, I was hoping we could convince someone to win it for us. Never in my right mind would I expect it to be Dark Ritual after you told him he was a civilian.

Great play by the mafia. Well done on winning, just a shame the citizens were playing so badly - I tried so hard!

Dark Ritual. What a noob. :fp:

How obvious Cutty and Drummy made it quickly jump in and defend Sykes/vote for Mind Crime. Should never had been able to get away with that. And wouldn't if DR wasn't such a noob and people were active.

Oh, and cheers Herbi for running it. A little bit of tuning up for the next time, maybe, but this is a good premise.

I agree. I'm not sure what the tuning ought to be, but the potential from these two games is still good.

Also, Cutty, totally knew you were a mafia after your AFWUL denial when I asked you before the podcast recording, but couldn't use it for moral reasons!

The problem is that the whole concept of the Wheel of Bullshit Deaths was contrary to every principal in the game of Mafia: an uninformed majority finding out who the informed majority was before they killed them off, not getting picked out so that you may or may not be godkilled. Since the prize was absolutely useless (since there was no way for the recipient to send the message on or respond), it was simply free kills for the Mafia. It was a flat-out bad idea, and should never be used again.
