Out of interest Denster, if you had control over all the citizens, what would have been your plan of attack?
And I mean from Day 1, not RR.

Excuse me, but I think having a sinister name such as DarkRitual is enough to arouse suspicions.
And I was just about right, you were nearly a Mafia. 8-)

After the last day of stuff, he may as well have been.

This game is one of incomplete information and you need to make strides to identify what is what, which the citizens didn't do. Instead they sat back and waited for things to land nicely in their lap.

No, we decided not to kill as it would give you an advantage. You had to kill off people one by one, we didn't have to help you.

Yet, in contrast, it became an advantage for the Mafia, because the citizens weren't learning any new information. There was nothing for the citizens to base their decisions on. One of the best ways to obtain information in these games is through voting analysis, and considering that in this particular iteration the voting would have been entirely public, I think it was a missed opportunity, really.

Drummy knows the score. Staydead doesn't.

Citizens achieved nothing as they did nothing.

A roulette is fine, but perhaps less people may have made it work mechanically better.

Also - when I run AYAW? I'm very careful to be fair to both sides, therefore all 'events' or triggers for events are planned in advance so that I cannot be seen to favour one side or the other mid-game by making up an event on the spot.

We also didn't lose anything yet either.

Mafia didn't achieve anything either. We were kind of stalemated. Citizens easily would have won had the roulette not killed off the two active players and everyone else being inactive being god killed.

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed reading through this thread - it made me want to consider joining next Mafia/AYA? game. Great job, Mafia of this game

Now that's just not strictly true, is it. We managed to (rather fortunately, I'll admit) kill two players in the night phase and I like to think I managed to coerce the thread into killing somebody (which ended up being Zenigame, sorry bro :( ) by applying a gentle amount of persuasion. 8-)

Seems to be an inability to adapt that lost you the game from what I see. You had a strong Plan A, but as soon as the random event shook that up, there was no Plan B.

Which is why random events in Mafia games are universally bullshit. The next time a random event comes up in a Mafia game that I'm in, I'm going to rage quit.

If it hadn't have been for MC - no one would have had a clue who was Mafia. How did doing nothing achieve anything? Apart from to creat disinterest and apathy? The mafia had a very difficult task of having to communicate via the thread. This impacted on them far more than on the citizens. They just got on with it. You would have been twice as likely to hit a mafia as a special role by lynching - so that excuse is a stupid one. Like Drummy said - a lynch every day would have yielded clues from the voting pattern alone.
Stop blaming it on herbi. The citizens strawberry floated it up and lost accordingly.
