Why?

It'd be like putting GTAIV on Game Boy?

Victors joke was funnier.

Uh, OK? BioShock and Borderlands are being ported from current gen so I don't know what makes this an impossibility.

BioShock and Borderlands were originally on consoles with the same power as this switch. There's a reason Borderlands 3 isn't getting a port.

Sounds good, thanks. I think due to the 30s setting, she'd love the game even if it was a card game.

Damn, that looks good. I never got into Mafia because I heard the console ports of the original weren't great, and just never felt right jumping in with sequels. Definitely interested in this.

Yea, I think this is whats got me pumped about the whole collection.

(Love all three, btw.)

Well, Mafia III could certainly do with some polish regardless but it does make me wonder if it's worth going for the whole package or to buy Mafia 1 and 2 separately. Oh hell, I'll probably go all in regardless.

Shame we can’t buy the trilogy package now, and get access to each as they release them.

No longer a shame, because that’s exactly what we can do. Except...

If you buy the trilogy now, the re-done first game becomes available on release in August, but you can play Mafia 2 and 3 now. Because Mafia 3 is just the existing game, and not an enhanced version. So I’ll just be buying Mafia 1 in August.

I'm hoping definitive edition Mafia 3 is slightly improved...

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. It’s literally the existing game with all the DLC.

I’ve just gone to the “new” Mafia 3 Definitve Edition in the store, and it’s saying it’s already installed.

EDIT: There’s a 7GB update now, which wasn’t there earlier, so hopefully there is some improvement. And at least there’s no question of having to re-buy it.

If you already had Mafia 2 and 3 on Steam, they've given you the definitive editions for free.

The Witcher 3 probably would have been a better example.

Didn't the Witcher III port get decent scores?

Sounds like a real labour of love, really looking forward to it. I don't expect they would add more things to do in the open world, which was Mafia 2's weakest point, but then again I've not played the original before so it's enough for me to just explore 1930's 'Lost Heaven' as is.

Really looks stunning, and for £30 it seems to be an utter must buy. But after the disastrous launch for the Mafia 2 port I'm a bit weary.

This arrived this morning from the game collection. It's in quite a nice gatefold box. My wife is over the moon (it's for her, she loves gangster stuff).

Don't like how constricting Mafia 2 remaster is, so unless this is re-written from start I'll give it a miss.

Please let me know what she thinks. I adored the original game and was so excited when this was announced but the trailers have left me feeling unimpressed.

Watched an unboxing for the Trilogy set and it looks like a really nice set, will probably shell out the extra £10 and nab this.

She opened the set earlier and it is indeed nice. Actually smells like an old school game box as it's got actual printed materials inside it. The first game disc said it was ready to play instantly and the day 1 patch is 'only' going to take 30 mins

The original Mafia is one of my favourite games ever. Hope they've done it justice.
