Seriously though, we want to take our time. I figure us Townsfolk will be untouchable for a day or two, as the Mafia won't know who to kill.

So let's use this to sit back, and watch who carefully. None of this jumping on bandwagon nonsense.

I've just remembered, we don't find out someone's role when they die!

My suggestion before was to put someone up for the chop with barely any basis for suspicion.

Then we could maybe see who supported/opposed their demise and go from there.

but a) that's a bit too obvious and now

b) we don't know what their role is upon dieing.

This game just got really hard....

The thing is, we have a 25% chance of taking out a Mafia member right now while they all (all three or two?) have to choose one of nine other people. And that's going to be next to impossible for the first couple of days.

But we don't know if we've taken one out or not. It's tricky tricky stuff.

Anyway, shall we just work down the list alphabetic...

Alright so...

Alright, 25% chance of killing a Mafia member which is more likely than the Mafia members agreeing on who to kill in the open with no-one sussing them out, even a little. Then, we just assume with each lynching that we've probably taken out a non-gangster.

And cross our fingers.

Also, we've got to look for the Mafia trying to communicate with one another.

Do you think it would be best if we say no names and no quoting anyone from now on? What do you think?

How will we vote for the person to lynch. Or will we do it in the form:

Official lynch vote: Eighthours

or something

Nah it'd awkward as hell to try and follow a conversation you're having with one person while another few are going on between different people and all it'd take is for someone not to read the thread and the no names thing would come to a shuddering halt.

Well whoever brings it to a halt can be lynched. If the only way to vote is putting down a proper lynch vote, we'll win statistically.

You see though smurphy, it could just be a honest mistake by someone who can't be bothered wading through 20 odd pages of spam and accusations, aaronayl and HM have been guilty of this in other games before.

Me first then?

EDIT: What happens if we trying to bring evidence against someone and we can't name them because of this "don't use names in the thread!" idea?

no I haven't. I'm generally one of the calmer player, that doesn't resort to that type of bandwagon jumping. It gets us nowhere and easily allows the wolves to hde among the chaos.

But nice use of singling out a few names for certain teammates looking at your post to scrutinise over. ;)

Just to clarify, my "no names" idea sucks. I realise that. Just wondered how it would go down.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions right now. We have some time, and I don't think the mafia will get anyone for a few days.

I also don't think any Mafia members will have posted just yet. And if they have they won't have put any codes in their post right away.

This will be a slow burning start.

So, what does everyone want to do? Lynching someone right away may nit be the best idea. But as has been mentioned we have a 25% chance if we go right now.

I was going to say here that I'm not going to mention any names from here on out, so I can't be coding messages to other Mafias, but then I realised I could still receive them. So scrap that idea.

And now I realise this could be me tellin other Mafia members not to look for codes in my posts. ARGH. stop posting Aaron.

I'm confused as to what's going on. Surely we can win if we just stay silent? Then the mafia can't kill anyone and townsfolk have an extremely good chance of getting rid of the 3 mafia before the gooseberry fool hits the fan? :-)

Staying silent would be boring and not in keeping with the game.

I think the best way forward is to just remember that each member of the Mafia needs to communicate who he wants to kill with the other two Mafia members whilst hiding this from everyone else. At the same time though, I don't think there is a rule which specifically states that they must post once a day. If everyone else stays silent then they are going to do this as well.

If all teh mafia have to agree in the thread who to kill, can we just look through, there's only going to be 4 or 5 people naming the same person as a "suspect" in the thread... so that's like a 60% or 70% chance of getting rid of mafia? Not bad odds just by playing the game normally and throwing some accusations around!
