Right.

I've spent a few hours today making my first ever proper song. I've been making crappy songs for years, but I've spent some time learning various programmes and bought a condenser microphone, so now I mean business. No vocals yet though, sorry. Adding them once I finish off my lyrics.

So yea, tell me what you think. It's nothing special, but I think it's the basis of a full song. Some timings are off I realise, but when I get some more time, I will sort all that shiz out.

To turn this into a topic, has anyone else got any recordings of themself playing an instrument? Show the forum, I think it would be interesting to hear.

Also, more heat than light, if he is here, how you got on with FruityLoops that I recommended you?

Listening to it now, and I like! I can't shake the feeling that Kele from Bloc Party is going to start yelping though...

How can I upload it so people can stream it, rather than having to download it?

No worries.

I did have some recordings of me playing on my old laptop, but that's gone to the big landfill in the sky now so I can't get at them.

What do you use to record and/or mix? I do enjoy a good dabble in music production every so often.

Ah, that's a shame.

Well, I use FruityLoops 8 for the drums, synth and bass. And then I export that as an mp3 and put that into Mixcraft 4, and just layer in my guitar and vocals. Pretty simple really. Been doing it for about a month, but this is the first song of my own.

I quite like the song as an instrumental, I'm worried incase adding vocals will ruin it. But hey, we shall see. What kinda theme do you think I should go for for the lyrics? I was thinking about a 'life is good, don't let people put you down, enjoy it whilst you're here' kinda song. Definately not a 'stabby rip stab stab' song.
