This incident sounds horrific. I know GRcade has a big presence in Glasgow so I hope everyone is safe.

It's worth posting this tweet probably:

Obviously people are going to be curious about what happened but it's best not to post unconfirmed details at this point.

EDIT: Maf just posted this and I feel bad pushing it off the page. Here you go Maf.

The rumour mill up here is going mental. I’m not going to post anything here because obviously it’s pure hearsay at the moment. Horrific scenes though, really awful stuff.

Hopefully the police are able to make some official statements sooner rather than later to try and get the rumour mill under control.

I know I shouldn't speculate but aren't hotels still closed at the moment? In which case I would imagine the hotel was being used for key workers who have high risk family members isolating at home.

It's awful whatever has happened but I really hope it isn't that.

They were apparently being used to temporarily house asylum seekers while their accommodation was being refurbished.

So it sounds like so far the only fatality is the suspect that was shot dead whilst the victims are all injured but currently stable?

Sounds that way. A horrible thing to happen but it could have been so much worse.

Hopefully the injured are able to pull through and make a full recovery.

It's a shame that the suspect had to be shot dead, especially as now we'll never really have a definitive idea of their motivation, but it does seem like it was the only way to really stop them without additional risk to life.

It's weird because there are eyewitnesses who have said that they definitely saw people who had died. Hopefully they were mistaken.

I'd imagine that for most onlookers the natural reaction to watching someone being stabbed and dropping to the floor without moving whilst bleeding heavily, rather than rolling around, clutching the wound and screaming in pain, is "That person is dead". (I'm just assuming that is what they saw if they assumed the victim was dead)

Won't the police investigators be combing through this person's entire life - friends, acquaintances, family, phone records, texts, online histories, etc? It's possible we may yet find out what kind of person they were, and build out a narrative of their final months to determine their motivations.
