some crazy virus has hit my computer. The desktop background has been replaced with red and some kind of Quake like symbol, and it's telling me to protect my PC. Everythings running slowly and weird. Any ideas what this is and how I fix it? Help appreciated greatly

THANKS

Personally, I recommend an external hard drive.

blood and sand, a guy at work had the same one.

In the end he couldn't be bothered to cure it, so he formatted his hard disk.

It's a nasty one though.

It's Quake, obviously.

The best way to fix it is to score 100 frags and unlock the BFG.

Had a quick search; it's the name of about 100 books/films and "blood sand virus" comes up with nothing useful.

I searched for it in Google. (Yes, I'm not always a smart arse and can occasionally even be helpful).

This: http://www.sohel.net/2004/03/read-this- ... us-be.html
was the most useful thing I could find. Except it's not very useful. Apparently you get it from opening attachments.
