With this in mind GRcade, what has been your favorite Mario moment over the years? Was it your first Mario game or just a moment that will live with you forever. Let's hear those stories!

I remember when I first played Super Mario Bros, I was old enough that I should have played Donkey Kong before it however, I never got my hands on a Game n Watch and the first console I got to play on (After the Atari) was my friends Super Nintendo. It wasn't long till I had my very own NES for christmas and after that I was hooked.

One of my favourite moments was when working for Future Publishing. I was on the Official Playstation magazine (and Total previous) as a temp and when my work was finished I used to walk over to Edge and they let me play on their imported N64. I got to play Super Mario 64 a year before the N64 was released in the UK. I fell in love with this game however, this was not my favorite moment. Every evening all the different magazines would come down to Edge and we would have a massive Mario Kart tournament, just having a player from each of the different magazines made it exciting and the banter was brilliant.

For me it was Playing Super Mario World about a year after release. I had a distinct moment during playing it where I realised I absolutely loved video games and would always continue to do so.

I still regard it as my favourite game of all time for that incredibly special moment it gave me. It doesn’t hurt that it still plays brilliant also.

I've never really played much of the Mario games and I'm not quite sure why, really.

I think that Super Mario Maker (Wii U) and Mario Kart 8 (Wii U and Switch) are by far my most-played Mario titles; with Odyssey (around 11 hours) my most-played core Mario game.

Super Mario 64 has to be my favourite Mario moment. It changed everything.

I can't think of a singular moment but the games I'm fondest of that contain Mario are TTYD and the original Galaxy.

Possibly the most inspiring Mario related moment I can recall is seeing the intro for Melee for the first time and seeing the statue come to life. I was extremely hyped for that game and it really delivered. I've thoroughly enjoyed most other Mario titles over the years but rarely recreated that moment of hype or anticipation in the same way.

Thanks for that, i'll give it a look......

Edit. That was weird

You are a monolith of love for the Super Mario!

The Mario is the vector and you are a dream forever enclosed! You hunch beneath Super Mario’s sprawling face and jump for miles when you see his Metal Self. He is the delirious 1-UP priest and all-consuming champion. You lustily throw coins at him every second of every minute of every era.

Super Mario 64. It's one of the most important games of all time.

My earliest memory of Mario is Super Mario Bros. I was in Primary School, I played 2 player with my friend Ian, on my brothers NES. It was the first time I'd actually seen Luigi.

As an aside, I have no idea where Ian went. He left school in P2. That was after we went to the zoo and a monkey threw its feces at him.

This. Still my most beloved game of all time. That said, it did spoil Galaxy for me, so it’s not all good.

My favourite memory was playing Mario oddessey into the new year a couple of years ago. I was playing the Donkey Kong part with Pauline singing. It was definitely a brilliant way to bring in the new year!

Some of my earliest memories are my dad playing mario sunshine; first one I actually played myself was mario kart: double dash. I reckon my favourite one is mario galaxy, but really this is probably the single franchise I played the most. Best moment that comes to mind is the finale of new donk city in odyssey, followed by a bunch of scenes from the mario RPG games.

I liked it when Nintendo released Mario 3d all stars; a lazy collection of 3 barely improved games, applied a weird restricted release window and everyone went mad for it.

I remember getting an NES for Xmas and me and my dad taking turns on Super Mario Bros, he was always better than I was but I still remember hearing that iconic theme on the first level

Shout out to Super Mario World as well, the best Mario game IMO

My earliest memories of Mario were from Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64, properly cemented my interest in Nintendo and gaming.

Favourite Mario game has to be Galaxy though, just a wonderful experience from start to finish

Our first console was a Snes which my older brother got for his 10th birthday. We got it pretty late into the life cycle and Nintendo was a whole new world to me back then. Super Mario World was the game we got with it and I would spend hours watching my brother play the game.

You are fond of Mario.
You like the Super Mario. You remember him but you are not pious.
You are not transfigured. An expression of concern darkens the Super Mario’s gigantic face.
It whispers your name into the wind as it clenches its fist.

:shifty:

Anyways, Mario's okay I guess. Only game I've not played is Sunshine so hopefully Nintendo release it on the eShop...? Don't be a banana split, Nintendo.

I don't think I can put it down to a single moment, there's just such a massive amount of good memories with Mario games for me.

I like The Thousand-Year Door and Odyssey. I don't get the 2D games.
