Ah, so we will no longer be forced to have Mario

This is all very exciting to me. Sounds like they're really listening to what fans liked and didn't like about the first, they're shaking up the combat by removing the grid system and the exploration and puzzling will be really expanded.

Ticking all the right boxes for a sequel.

Free team composition is great, probably my number one want. The free movement in a radius reminds me of sakura wars on the wii.

These changes sound very Fractured But Whole to me. Changing something that ain't broke for the sake of looking like they've made more of an effort. I just don't think the combat will be as tight as the first game with these changes in place.

It'll still be a good game, I'm just not convinced these changes are an improvement.

This is sounding great, all the changes being made are positives in my book, hope we get some more gameplay soon.

Let's wait and see how the changes work first ;)

They need to make some changes to the fundamentals to keep things fresh.

Did you not ever find being forced to use Mario felt overly restrictive? In principal I don't see how free team composition could be a bad thing - it opens up so many more possibilities for experimenting and finding synergies that work for you. The risk is that it's harder to balance for, but I have some faith as the first game too was well balanced. There wasn't one team build that was easily the best.

They should go all in on a Xcom clone and include base building and research restraints with an in-game calendar.

Rumours are floating that M&R 2 will be getting some form of ‘gameplay presentation’ this Wednesday. Sounds like a big info blowout.

For reference, M&R1 was announced at E3 2017, and released 17th August. So a pretty short window from reveal to release.

If they're doing a big gameplay blowout, I can see a similar schedule.

Nothing new about Ubisoft!

It should be great and the first game was brilliant. Loved it.

Gold edition includes:

The base game
The season pass which contains upcoming DLC packs, including additional story content featuring new heroes, quests, and battles.
Also includes the Galactic Prestige Pack, with three exclusive and supremely stylish weapon skins for your team, unlockable right away. Save the galaxy, but do it with pizzazz!

So they're planning story DLC again. Not disappointed with that after Donkey Kong Adventure.

Looks like Bowser and Rabbid Rosalina in and Yoshi/Rabbid Yoshi out from the screens out there.

Also, it looks absolutely beautiful.

The DLC didn't end up on the 'gold' edition cart, did it? Always required a download.

Wonder if this will be the same.

At what point did people find the original hit its stride? I'm near the end of World 2 and wouldn't say the game has got beyond "cute but limited" so far.
