Oh goodie

My total play time so far is closer to the 25 hour mark now.

Get paid at the end of the week so I'll be making use of that PayPal offer and buying the season pass.

Is this recommended for a xcom/ghost recon shadow wars fan? Liking the look of this.

Yes. The biggest differences are the much larger emphasis on mobility and the interleaving of character actions, and the much smaller role of chance with hit percentages (in M+R the hit chances are always one of 0%, 50% or 100% depending on cover, and the only other thing affected by chance is critical hits).

Highly recommended, surprise hit on the Switch for me and nothing else has been inserted (Oo-er) in my Switch since getting M+R. Finished World 3 now mopping up the Challenges (Perfected everything first go so no need to go back and do that)

I'd thought that I had taken down the boss... before realising that was merely the first stage of the battle! It was terrific :) .

So what type of game is this?

Is it a platform type shooter, or more like a 1st person shooter?

Neither.

It's a turn based strategy game on a grid in the manner of Xcom with some light exploration/puzzle solving between battles.

And it's very good.

Hmmm, so a bit like Advance Wars or Fire Emblem?

Yep, closer to that type of gameplay. Not that similar in how it all works but yeah more like that.

Good Lord the end of world 2 boss is tough! Bloody Hell!

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

I've completed two worlds in story mode and the first world's challenges.

It's good but not great. I'm finding it a bit too easy.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

You probably need to watch a gameplay video, it's not really like those either

Octoroc wrote:I'm finding it a bit too easy.

I'd somewhat agree (although I absolutely loved the game still), but consider that general opinion is that the game is quite tough. I guess with strategy games you get quite a wide variation in skill levels.

Never used easy mode and if any have proven a challenge then I'd go back and do if with a stronger team. There was 1 challenge in W1 were I had to go back after doing W3 because I'd never bothered upgrading my area of movement.

I used easy mode on the mid-level boss in World 1. I can't remember if I used it for the main boss, though... probably not :datass: .

:shifty: .

Just have the very last challenge to do.

It's pretty tough to be fair :dread:
