Indeed, I don't recall money being a problem. If the upgrade to one of my characters weapons just wasn't worthwhile, I stuck with what I had, so in the end I only bought something like 6 weapons per character not including sentries or melee.

Yeah, I had plenty of money and I’ve unlocked most of characters’ weapons.

Oh I've usually got enough money for upgrades and been doing what drumstick has written, but in this instance I was at the start of a tough 2 part fight with no cash to buy anything for other characters, forcing me to use the ones I had.

Anyway I'm beyond that bit now, and can someone tell me how in the ever loving strawberry float you are supposed to do that browser junior mech mid boss without resorting to extra health? I can do the first phase no problem, but I'm just getting hammered on the main fight. I try to keep enough distance and the strawberry floater gains the ground back and then magnets me in, one hit kills. I try to split the team, up and use long range people, but one hit from as far away as possible brings him half way, he walks the rest then magnets, one hit strawberry floating kill. I can't use any overwatch as he puts out drones at all times which seem to be there just to take the hits from that, plus it just kites him around where you don't want him.

I had a lot of trouble for a long time, just don't attack him unless he puts down a drone, attack him to pull him into it (as it hurts himself) then run through a pipe.

Never move then attack, always attack then move so he can't do what you said.

Shoot from one side, then shoot from the other, and he'll end up back in the middle?

Cheers guys, that's pretty much what I've been doing apart from have him run over his own drone. I think its the supporting enemies that strawberry float it up more for me, I'll try again shortly.

It's really ramping up now and every move counts. I've only just realised activating overwatch doesn't end my turn :fp: I'm so used to that being the case in xcom that I always save it until the end. So many times that could have been used during my turn rather than after it (like sliding an enemy in to the air for a combo).

strawberry float the escort missions too. I just did a couple and one was a single turn away from getting to the safe zone, and he got sniped from miles away, but with a critical burn and then ran a full turn worth of movement in the other direction. I missed out on the perfect by one turn ffs.

The escort missions were my least favourite. The DLC has a different take on them that I much prefer.

I finished one escort mission 3 turns ahead, because he got burned in the correct direction every time.

Had a very quick go on the DLC and it seems brilliant! Looking forward to getting properly stuck into it.

Oh float right off, a battle, straight in to another, and another AND then in to a boss fight against wario, waluigi and some Angel thing. Was full on health apart from Luigi being a bit down and had them all but the angel dead, then I got strawberry floated hard and lost somehow. Restart battle, yeah why not.

HAHAHA BACK TO THE START OF THAT LOT FOR YOU mummy strawberry floater :x

Don't feel too bad, that is comfortably the toughest part of the game. Took me 10 attempts if not more...

It's funny how when it goes in your favour, it's amazing, but when it doesn't it's the worst game feature ever

Also me every time I move a character up to high ground and activate overwatch:

I did that on the first attempt somehow. I only had Luigi and Rabbid Luigi left but I got incredibly lucky.

I went through the game with 'perfect' ratings; up to that point I hadn't missed one. I didn't want to just accept a 'good' rating and then come back to it later, so I suppose I made it hard for myself. Luigi, no matter how much I tried to hide him, kept getting targeted. In the end I just got sick of it and moved on; after I got the final set of upgrades I came back to it and got the perfect.

How many people have the DLC and if so how good is it?

Very good. Some small new mechanics but just more of the same except with Donkey Kong really. So definitely worth getting if you enjoyed the main game. Campaign has decent length to it too, 10 hours probably.

I DID IT
Image

I really had to mix the teams up over the 4 rounds. Overwatch and range helped so much on the more open bits, whereas close up heavy weapons like peach's big gun thing and multiple slide attacks helped on the more cramped ones.

Didn't lose any characters which was good, but was being pretty cautious and it cost me in turns.

I think other than the levels you couldn't use ones you picked on I think I used Luigi and Rabbid Luigi in every level I could. His vamp dash was just far too good.
