I'd hope DLC does get added for it over time to include new courses. We need a few really wacky courses to give us that true Mario feel.

For a standard game of golf you don't really want gimmicks getting in the way; for speed golf course gimmicks look like they would add a lot.

Looking pretty good, some decent characters in the roster too. Shame my boy Koopa hasn't made the cut, hopefully they'll be some dlc like what they did with Tennis Aces.

Looks really good. I'm hoping the controls still have some nuance despite being 'easy'

Mario aces was so easy to play that you basically couldn't win a point unless you used your special shot thing.

It was more about meter management than actually playing the game.

I don't think that's 100% true but that's what made Mario Tennis great and unique as a tennis game in my opinion. The online was great once you got into it.

And if you didn't like the meter system you could play the game without it as a standard tennis game anyway.

If GameXplain have released a preview, that means others won't be far off. Be interested in taking a look at those initial impressions later on.

Preview embargo being lifted has sent ResetEra into a tailspin on a possible SwitchPro annoucement

I watched the Treehouse for this, the adventure mode thing has a lot of potential:

Adventure mode is looking so much better than I feared! I think seeing this might have sold me on the game. I was genuinely expecting it to have so much less to it :toot:

Also, the opening of it looks so much like the opening of Pokemon Sword/Shield! The Scottish-ish country setting and the layout of the village and character's home (or dorm I guess). House on the left, path down across a river into the village bordered by fields.

Unsurprising; Scotland has a some iconic golf courses (Carnoustie, St. Andrews).

This looks to be a fully realised release unlike the barebones that Aces consisted of. Heavily leaning towards a buy but will probably try and get it in a sale.

I showed my girlfriend the adventure opening and she immediately said "why is this pokemon sword and shield?". It even has sheep that look like wooloo!

I really hope this is a good single player experience. A lot of the features (speed mode, battle mode) have me worried that they wont work if you dont have online / friends to play with. Really interested in the reviews. Could be a day 1 purchase if my fears are unfounded and there is a really meaty single player mode.

Do we know when the review embargo lifts? I'm guessing tomorrow afternoon?

Yeah reviews should drop tomorrow I believe, expecting around the 80’s on Metacritic.
