Announced in February for release in June, this new Mario Golf game is set to bring the fun of golf to the Switch with the colourful cast of Mario characters you all know and love. Along with the regular story mode in which you'll play as a Mii and face off against those characters (I so love that Miis are coming back into the picture across all Nintendo games), there's also the Speed Golf mode - in which everyone is moving at once, racing across the course after hitting their ball to be the first one into the hole. There's plenty more still to discover about this one, but at least we've got some stylish outfits for the characters.
Is it me or is this really cruddy visually. It looks seriously low effort, textures, environments all really bare bones. It looks like the character models, which haven’t been improved since early WiiU, have been dumped in a 3DS game.

Random fact: That was originally supposed to be Graham Chapman but he couldn't do it as he had a prior appointment with getting ill and subsequently dying so Ruby stepped in at short notice as she's married to Ed Bye who was the director
New trailer giving an overview of the game. Sixteen characters, including Pauline, a Chargin' Chuck, and King Bob-omb, more of Speed Golf is shown off, along with Battle Golf, and a bit more of the story mode. Gotta say, it's lookin' good, even if the courses still don't look massively Mario.
I am faintly intrigued now. Course designs look a lot more interesting than I'd feared. (I'm sure the RPG mode will be naff but I loved Toadstool Tour which didn't have one.)
