Toad/ Yoshi have always been my choices.

Koopa Trooper in SMK
Yoshi in MK64
Yoshi in Super Circuit
Mario/Luigi in DD
Mario in DS
Mario in Wii
Mario in 7

Guess it'll be Mario in 8 too!
