Looks really nice visually. Watching the videos though it just reminds me how annoying I find most of the Mario Kart characters.

Does anyone actually choose a character other than Mario in single-player mode? I'm a Nintendo purist and always go for the ever-reliable all-rounder that is Mario. That goes for SM3DW too, with a few necessary exceptions.

Toad, Koopa Troopa or Yoshi for me. I occasionally dabble with Wario, but they're my main three.

Super Mario Kart is all about Donkey Kong Jr. for me, mostly because I was addicted to time trials, but since then I've never really had a favourite character.
Edit; in Mario Kart DS I always use Yoshi.

I used to be Toad, but me and my mates got so involved in Mario Kart we all took individual characters to distinguish us. Since then I've always played as Peach.

Because Yoshi is cool.
I tend to main as Yoshi, but I main as Luigi way more. I'll want to main Shy Guy too.
I'll probably play others anyway.

I always go Yoshi.
I seem to remember Bowser was the best in the older games, when you'd mastered the courses. Best top speed, as long as you didn't crash.
