Multiplayer Monday - Anyone wanna Mario Kart Monday on 20/12/21 ??????

Only other comment from me is that other than RL which has cross play this Multiplayer Monday is entirely Switch based. Now that makes sense as we have history of lots of folks joining in for Switch multiplayer and when trying to get this off the ground it definitely makes sense to put your best foot forward, but I just wondered whether we wanted to get some polls going or investigate any other way of canvasing opinion for other games/platforms that could join the rotation?

Yeah, it's very Nintendo, but it seems to be one of the few things that lasted here, bar Driveclub on a Sunday I can't think of anything that lasted too long, nothing as long as Mario Kart. TBH, I'd love 2 different days of the week to be a thing, so we could maybe have PS/XB stuff on the other day. Like Sea of Thieves one week and errr Fallout 76 another (I honestly can't think of any PS MP games right now :lol:

If people have suggestions of games for other platforms and wanna do another session as well as Monday then just post in the thread.

If more games did offer crossplay, it'd be easier to organise such things. If we wanted to host some GTA Online racing, for example, which platform would be the most popular? And if we wanted to include custom races, but someone had a good one on a certain platform that the others couldn't access, it fractures the player count unless that person was willing to try and port it across to the more popular platform.

One thing I'm hoping the next generation provides is more consistent crossplay. And the worry of games not lasting too long shouldn't matter if they were special one-time additions that break up the regular four games instead of replacing one of them.

Yeah, crossplay needs to be more of a thing, a lot of peeps play more 3rd party multiplayer titles than first so it makes sense to do it.

Hopefully people can think up some games. I mentioned Sea of Thieves as it's really frigging good with people, but it's 4 people to a ship. You'd either have 4 people turn up or have several different crews across different servers, though Discord chat would still be fun. Fortnite is the same, I assume, I mention that as Yube mentioned it I. The thread earlier. I'll happily play most things as for me it's more having fun with the company than the game itself.

This fine evening we'll see all you wonderful GRcadets taking up arms (not actual arms) to take each other out and cover everywhere with ink in the wonderful Splatoon 2. Join in at 9pm for some splatteriffic fun on the Nintendo Switch and don't forget to join the Discord to enjoy the squid kids getting fresh with the bants.

Normally we jump into random matches unless there is enough of us for a private room.
