Overworld map and the ability to make hidden paths/exits would be fantastic

They've confirmed that now you get the games original physics depending on what tileset you use.

The real Super Mario World 2 begins here.

 Yoshi's Island tileset?

The Wikipedia entry states that elements from non-Mario games could be included.

Here's the source:

A Zelda Maker would be ueber cool, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I'd imagine a Zelda Maker would be something they did if Mario maker was a success. And it would be epic.

The only thing more disappointing than Yoshi's Island being billed as Super Mario World 2 was Turok 2 being deemed better than GoldenEye. To any Yoshi's Island tileset:

Yoshi's Island is better than Super Mario World though.

Hopefully we'll get a substantial number of pre-designed levels.

Would be nice if each level was designed by someone different from Nintendo (actually, open it up to big names from other companies) with their Mii at the start of the level, and perhaps a little video of them talking about their level design, Mario memories etc.

Yoshi's Island was great. Dat Super FX 2 chip. :datass:

Which is why Yoshi's story was a bit disappointing.

I'm beginning to think that Miyamoto is a stud. First, the (gorgeous) lady who makes the cakes, now this lady.

Miyamoto = LAD

A video of some great levels made by Shinya Arino has been uploaded. I've included a few links below to the start of each section played by various guests, including Miyamoto himself. They're very impressive and give Mario Maker huge potential. I'm now very eager to get my hands on the game and see what other people come up.

It looks wonderful, definitely one of the games I'm most excited about this year. I still play the original Super Mario Bros every couple of months and New Super Mario Bros U is probably my favourite 2D platform game.

Those Arino levels are all wonderful. I can't wait to pass malicious stages back and forth between friends.

I just added a new link to the part where Arino completes the first level himself. It's worth watching as well.
