The latest game in the Mario Strikers series is coming to Nintendo Switch! Prepare for Strike, a five-on-five sport like football that’s way heavy on offence.

Aim for goals by dribbling and passing to teammates, as well as using tackles, items and crushing special shots. If you spot an orb on the pitch, grab it and charge it up while your opponents are distracted to unleash Hyper Strike, a special shot that can earn you two goals in one!

Customise your team as you see fit by equipping them with gear that changes not only their appearance, but also their stats like speed, strength, and pass accuracy.

Up to eight players – four players on each team – can compete against each other on one Nintendo Switch console*. In addition to individual matches, online play will have Strikers Club mode** that lets 20 players join up and compete to become the world’s top club.

I’m remember playing in a GRcade league back when the Wii game came out. It was fun!

I've never played a Strikers game before. Time to get on that!

This is cool, never played Strikers but always heard good things!

As much as I loved Mario strikers Charged on the Wii, there were many moments where I wanted to throw the controller in a fit of rage. I fully expect the same from this, but it won't stop me from buying it. Can't wait.

8 players on 1 system!

Looks amazing - love the visuals. Honestly, can see myself and mates having as much fun with this as Mario Kart.

I adored the original on GameCube, a very underrated multiplayer experience.

The only snag with this one in my view is that local multiplayer isn't really viable for me and I'm not interested in NSO; so the game would need a hefty single-player offering to tempt me.

It would make perfect sense for it to be next level and super strike animation and layout and visuals looked very in-tune with the previous entries....but, the fact they didn't outright say straight away it was being developed by Next Level might imply its not :shifty:

Nintendo don't really tend to highlight who the individual dev team is do they? Although the timing makes sense for this to be NLG

This is the next best thing after a full-on Mario Rugby Sevens game
