So here is a crazy idea we are going back to the 70's I have decided on 1973, you become responsible for bringing marvel films to the big screen, you have an unlimited budget, unlimited control of direction and the choice of 5 actors to make any 5 Marvel solo films with, bearing in mind after film 5 there would be an avengers style ensamble movie ...... Don't take it too serious have a laugh and go for it....

Ok here is my pick

Film one. Doctor Strange staring Vincent Price, he would have been about 60 the so it wouldn't be an origin more a story where he is an established sorcerer supreme, campy and fun

Film Two Shang Chi staring Bruce Lee the comic debuted this very same year but I couldn't not cast Lee in something

Film Three Captain America staring James Dean, I'd want it gritty and emotional mostly set during WW,2 frozen right at the end

Film 4 Dustin Hoffman's Ironman a bit strange maybe but I'd give it a shot

Film 5 Luke Cage staring Duane Jones he was brilliant earlier in Night of the living Dead, I'd want this to be gritty fighting in the streets

Haha, nice one, kerr!

I'll go for Ghost Rider. William Shatner would be ol' Ghostie; aged 42 in 1973, he'd be great as a funny - and wee bit camp - antihero. There'd be some terrible 70s "special effects" such as odd-looking, clearly pasted-onto-the-film flame effects and the bike would be a Harley painted in classic psychedelic waves of colour.

Oh, yeah, baby... here come the 'Rider :datass: .

I like it Ghost Rider was a new character around this time and William Shatner is something special

I particularly like the idea of Christopher Lee as Doom

Deforest Kelly was the Villain in a lot of cowboy films , so I could see him being a bad dude like Fury

I am 41 I was born in 1981 but I watch films from the 30's to now and thought this might be a laugh for some of us who watch a lot of films a bit of a light hearted thing I figured maybe do the 80's and 90's after

I could have started with 1939 and Timely comics which would go on to be marvel but theres hardly any heroes and I dont think many of you wuld know acotrs from then

sofor 39

James Stewart as Namor
Lon Chaney Junior as the Android Human Torch (not the same character as the fantastic 4 one)
Bruce Cabot as Captain America

Dwight Frye, Bela Legosi and Boris Karloff would make excellent Villians from this time period.

James Dean died in 1955 so, in 1973, he might have to have been 'frozen' for the entire film.

Likewise, Bruce Lee died 5 months before Shang Chi debuted

Ahhh darn, I suppose that really trashes my idea , I didnt realise James Dean had been dead that long..... I knew Bruce and Shang would be close but I thought it would have come out first

I guess I would have to change Dean to Steve McQueen as Captain America and copy Xeno ..... cant think of a good replacement for Bruce Lee, still I think its a nice little thought exercise.

Yeah I love Jackie it just clashed with my original idea, I wanted Bruce cause of his deep philosophical side, if I took that away and added crazy stunts action scenes and humour into the mix Jackie Would have been awesome for it.
