Really looking forward to Wandavision next week. Wish they'd release Black Widow to streaming.

At this point Disney will keep delaying until more people have had the vaccine before they stream Black Widow.

Despite watching the trailers for Wandavision, I've no real understanding of the premise. :?

Wandavision will be easy to strawberry float up - but I really hope they don't

Almost finished my MCU rewatch, only Endgame and SpiderMan Far From Home to go.

It’s funny how this pandemic has worked out given them a nice long break since the end of phrase 3. Just what was called for really, will make everything feel fresh and exciting again.

I can’t get my head around it either  I have a feeling it’s going to be something you have to really concentrate on.

Funnily enough we're doing a rewatch just now, and tonight was Dark World.

It's probably still the weakest of the MCU movies, but it's still got some decent moments and good laughs.

Ragnarock and Endgame definitely make it more watchable as well I think.

I like that Wandavision seems a bit unclear at this point (although the general concept seems fairly easy to deduce)

Really interested in how What If? turns out, the trailer hints at some intriguing stuff:

Seems to be something like Wanda's powers creating her own reality where the Vision is still alive, and there's going to be multiverse shenanigans.

I can’t quote the post, as the other thread has now been locked, but yes, Hexx, this is my first time watching. If it wasn’t, it would be a bit worrying for me not to see the ending coming.

Captain Marvel done now, so just Endgame to go. (I know there’s Far From Home too, but it’s not available to rent, and like hell am I buying it.) Getting through them all before my free Disney+ sub runs out (in ten days), but I also want to watch both series of The Mandalorian. Oh, and all 11 Star Wars films in 4K.

I know, back last March I had no real interest in the Black Widow film and was a bit meh about the continuing MCU but now am quite looking forward to it all.
Wild how much everything has changed since Far From Home was in the cinema

One thing I did wonder - was the whole Infinity Stone concept created as a way of (very neatly) tying the films together, or was it an existing part of Marvel lore? I’ve avoided googling it because I don’t want to stumble upon spoilers.

Stones pre exist in many stories, but the specific stories of the films pick and choose and change things around as they please.

Its existing Marvel lore though Thanos's motivations are very different in the comic.

Quite major pre-existing lore for several decades, with stories often tied to Thanos and incorporating multiple superheroes, so much of the MCU has been based on those stories to some extent.

They've always been a thing and Infinity Gauntlet was one of the biggest comic crossovers they've done. Infinity War doesn't adapt it directly but takes most of its inspiration from that and another crossover from not long ago simply called Infinity.

Yeah the infinity stones have been a part of marvel lore for even longer than the Thanos Copter.

How have you enjoyed the MCU Rinks? I’m interested to hear your first impressions of the universe as a whole.

Very impressed with how it all knits together, while each film also works in isolation, albeit with massive cliffhangers. I’m glad I didn’t have to wait months/years between the films to get the resolution. Must have driven you guys wild with anticipation.

I previously had virtually no experience of the stories, other than what I’d picked up from references on TV or people talking on Twitter. Hulk and Spider-Man I knew of from the TV shows of my childhood, plus the Asgard mythology in a non-Marvel context. I was aware of Captain America as a character, but knew nothing about him, and the likes of Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange were entirely new to me.

I think I’d have been quite lost if I hadn’t watched all the films in order, but they otherwise did a solid job of introducing the characters and explaining their back-stories. I think the only time that I wavered was in Captain Marvel, where I was wondering if I was supposed to already know her origins, as they appeared to make no sense at first, but it was all perfectly explained by the end.

The films have been hugely entertaining, without exception. My least favourite was probably the first Captain America, as it was (unsurprisingly) all a bit jingoistic. Similarly, I thought the military-glorifying in the Iron Man films was to their detriment, but they’re all still good films.

Best so far has been Infinity War, as it pulled all the strands together, but I’m just about to watch Endgame now.

Most jarring moment was when Led Zep’s Immigrant Song started playing over the battle in Ragnarok, but after the initial surprise it was a perfect choice. Made all the more appropriate by how Robert Plant basically looks like Odin these days. Wish they’d got him in the film.

Best moment of the series was Groot’s grin after his corridor massacre.
