I can't see Pedro Pascal's age being an issue. Reed Richard's looks old as strawberry float anyway.

Fingers crossed they get Ian McKellen to recreate this scene.

Irrelevant when you consider he had a lead role in Porn 'n' Chicken.

Just watched The Marvels and holy hell that was a lot better than I expected.

Not in the top tier of MCU movies. But I really enjoyed it. Loved every minute of it.

I'd forgotten just how much I enjoyed Ms Marvel so it was great to see her here.
I genuinely think Kamala might be my favourite addition to the MCU since Endgame and I'm thinking about a rewatch of that show.

I loved her fangirling all over Carol.
I love that Carol wasn't annoyed by her.
I love that she didnt' need to prove herself to Carol and Monica.

I love that the threat was essentially the same evil ploy from Spaceballs played straight.
I loved the dance and song sequences.
I loved the additional Flirkins.
I loved every scene with Kamala's family.

And then that credit sequence.... Its finally happening.

Better than most of the stuff since Endgame.

Love it.

I really enjoyed The Marvels as well, just a great cast of characters on a very entertaining adventure, insane that it hasn't had a better reception IMO.

I can understand it's box office. The MCU has been declining for a while now and it didn't seem to offer anything particularly exciting. Plus general comic/superhero fatigue. So I get it.

Hell I went into it with my Steam Deck next to me as I figured I'd probably end-up half watching it. Never touched it once.

I do think my lower expectations for it made me more receptive.
That and I'm trying to take a more positive approach with stuff in general. Focusing on things I like rather than things I don't.
I'm fed up being overly negative all the time, especially in my reaction to games/movies etc.

But yeah this was great. Not perfect and it had it's issues in places, but good fun. I want more Kamala and Carol.

I totally forgot about Kamala "recruiting" Kate Bishop at the end.
Yeah this movie made me smile quite a bit. :D

If you put a fan insert character into something then you get a great cast of characters and a very entertaining adventure?

Just saw The Marvels and I loved it. I loved the Ms Marvel series and I loved all the other characters as well.

Really fun movie, can't wait to see more from those characters.

Monica essentially being left behind in the fox universe was interesting - Beast!

I started watching Ms Marvel this week actually to fill in the lore for The Marvels. Two episodes in and I'm really liking it. Kamala and her mum are the two standouts for me, but I also really like her best friend who obviously loves her (name escapes me).

In terms of episode pacing, each episode feels a bit like a half hour episode of an American East is East reboot followed by an MCU superhero short. I get this is probably necessary to introduce a completely new character and I'm sure the action to social background ratio will improve as the series continues, but as someone who is probably socially-aware enough to not need a Newsround-level report into the plight of modern Muslim women in the west I do find myself flagging a bit in the mid-ep. I also find myself wondering if Kamala and Captain Friend-Zone would still be allowed to hang out once they sneaked off to Avengercon together if the parents are so protective of her. It's still a really fun show though, and I'm keen to see what happens.

(Obviously not having seen it) I think the Marvels will age very well. The writers strike and general MCU malaise have done for it at the box office but nobody has said it's Eternals-level terrible (which was a real possibility).

Feel bad for not making time to see the Marvels in the cinema now. It's great  Like actually properly funny in places.

"Oh cool, it's just Carol"
"is this the new iPad?", "If this is all top-secret information why is it clear"
Kamala's mom with Nick Fury - "Nicholas was just saying how dangerous space travel is", "MISTER FURY YOU ARE GOING THE WRONG WAY"
The Flerken scene to Memory from Cats
The musical planet

(that's the one thing that I thought wasn't great - the new Cap Marvel suit looked so bland compared to what she had at the start of the film)

Valkyrie out of nowhere! Have they ever really interacted outside of big group battles? Captain Marvel's like "she's a friend" - I want to see that story too :slol:

Shows how little attention it seemed to get when it came out when that post credits scene was still a total surprise for me  Any other Marvel film and I'd have accidentally seen it on twitter seventeen times a week

Maybe I'm the only one but I really have no interest in watching Fox X-Men again. I was actually a little disappointed to see Frasier Beast turn up

I think it was more a cameo, I'm not sure you need to worry about it. Same as what turned up in MOM.
