First half reminded me of Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy with all the space bureaucracy.

Really enjoyed Loki, but different and I like the way it had a deep dive into his character

One thing I noticed during one of the flashbacks is they used the footage of Coulson being killed where the blade goes right through his chest which I thought they edited out in all the releases after the cinema release?

Best of the 3 pilot episodes so far (Wandavision is dead last).

Lex-Man wrote:Just watched the first episode of Loki quite enjoyed it. It has a very Brazil vibe it also does a fairly good job of setting stuff up.

Brazil vibe?

Definitely had a strong Brazil vibe, I noticed that too. Fallout-esque at times with the retro futuristic theme - especially that one machine.

Loved the aesthetic, the music is strawberry floating awesome, nice meaty dialogue, cool concepts. Really looking forward to getting into the show.

Have you not watched Terry Gilliam's Brazil?

Brazil would be far too left wing for David to cope with.

I really enjoyed it. Owen Wilson was really good.

I am wondering if the Variant that they are hunting is trying to gather those capsule to use them somehow to save his mother?

Enjoyed Loki, but it's already suffering from the problems Falcon & Winter Solider had - it needs a tighter script and edit.

The plane scene was very strange. It made no sense to include it. It's as if was cut from a different part of the series, but they thought it was too cool/expensive to lose entirely.

I thought that bit was quite charming. I mean, it made zero sense, but it was very charming.

Oh I totally agree. If it had been part of the plot narrative, it would have been a cool scene. Apparently it was based on an unsolved FBI case, but still had no business being in that episode.

Yeah, my daughter went mad when they said his name as she'd been reading about the case fairly recently (and telling me about it).

The DB Cooper case is a famous one in the states so I suspect it would have gone down a bit better with them. It was quite random though, just kinda popped into the middle of the episode with little context.

Prison Break used the DB Cooper case as the basis for a character/plot line too.

Never even heard of it! Assumed Brazil was an amusing smartphone predicted word for something else!

Really, really enjoyed that. Probably the best of the Marvel show debuts so far.

Tom Hiddleston really is great isn't he? Hard to imagine Loki working nearly as well without him.

Very keen to see where they take it next
