Finished Loki S2 this week. I have to say it was largely wibbly wobbly timey wimey nonsense that if I’m honest I wasn’t really following. That final episode I think was fantastic though. I think it’s the thing that’s felt like the most real stakes since End Game.

People will probably disagree but I like Kang as a villain and I like Jonathan Majors as Kang, there’s an unpredictability in his performance and a kind of weighty arrogance in his delivery. His conversation with Loki at the end of time was brilliant.

There's an unpredictability because he's a terrible actor and an arrogance because he believes he's amazing.

Ths issue is he's not a terrible actor, he's actually a really good actor it's just he's an absolute piece of gooseberry fool outside of the camera so strawberry float him.

After Loki S2 I have to disagree. I actually thought he was decent in Ant-Man but his Victor Timely was ridiculous and really stood out against the rest of the staff, who were brilliant.

That was Timely's whole character in this though. He was supposed to be essentially a nervous wreck who's essentially lied and cheated his way through life scamming people for money. He's a con artist and the way majors acted the character to me at least worked really well.

Have to agree to disagree. I found he took me out of every scene because the whole time I was thinking how badly he was overacting.

I don't think I've seen Majors acting other than his Kang roles.

He seems decent enough. Timely is a weird piece of acting, but I suspect that's more the character than the acting.

Staydead is right about the main problem being Majors behaviour off camera.

Timely seemed an odd choice and it would be interesting to know if it was driven by Majors or the director/writers. I can imagine it's difficult to differentiate between essentially the same person but this seemed like adding a stammer purely for that reason. I think Majors has been good in other things I've seen him in. Swapping him out though? Different black actor runs the risk of you being accused of thinking all black actors are interchangeable and going with a white actor would really blow up in your face. I do wonder if Kang's influence on the finale of Loki S2 was toned down quite substantially.

Majors was excellent in Lovecraft Country. I think he's a really great actor, although I haven't watched Loki 2 yet. Shame he's an arse hole IRL

I just looked on IMDb and I have seen Majors in something else, Da 5 Bloods.

But I remember virtually nothing about that movie, so I've no idea if he's a good actor away from Kang.
