What's Fassbender supposed to have done? I've not heard anything about him.

Wonder what this means for Kang though as he was meant to be the big bad villain going forwards?

If they wanted to keep a similar looking actor then John Boyega could potentially be cast, he looks a bit like a younger Jonathan Majors if you squint....

They could cast anybody and just say "this is a Kang variant". After all, we've seen a female Loki, a Richard E Grant Loki and even a crocodile Loki!

Yeah, a Kang variant i think will be the best way forward as there's already been too much groundwork laid for them to suddently switch to a different big bad.

Remember also, there were a couple of different versions of Thanos before Josh Brolin was cast.

Wasn't there like one Thanos before Brolin was cast and it was in one short post credit scene where he didn't even speak? Not really the same thing.

I actually think after Loki S2 they're in a position where they could pivot away from Kang if they really wanted to.

Think it's relatively easy to pivot away. He's only been in Antman in the films hasn't he

Just ditch Kang completely, nobody cares.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote:Marvel has two courses it could take now. It could recast the part, although it is not clear how many actors would be attracted to a role from which one actor was so publicly fired. The other course is to redevelop its plans and refocus on a brand new villain. While Marvel sources are mum, there is indication that the studio has already been doing just that. In November, Marvel hired Loki creator Michael Waldron to work on a new draft of what was once called Kang Dynasty, but is now being referred to as Avengers 5, according to sources.

Hopefully they just ditch the whole Multiverse stuff. It's fun for stuff like getting the three Spider-Men together but beyond that it just makes everything feel completely meaningless.

Unfortunately I don't think they can ditch it at this point. It's been critical to everything they're working towards and ripping it out now would leave it even worse off.
They know what they are working towards, however cack handed it's been at times.

I would like them to wrap it up sooner than later though, which is what the two Avengers movies will do.
After them I can see a soft-reboot for the whole thing, refocusing the MCU around the Fantastic Four and X-Men while keeping a small handful of legacy characters around.
It's also probably the most logical point for them to properly introduce Mile Morales as well.

For the Kang situation they need to do a Rhodey. Just recast it and don't even mention it.

Lovely gift in time for Christmas.

It was inevitable really, keeping him on would have just led to more bad press.

Taking the Majors situation out of it, I don't think they've done enough with Kang to justify him being the big bad in an Avengers movie anyway. There needs to be at least something else before that point that sets up the character better and that seems like the perfect opportunity to recast.

All of the above is without seeing The Marvels so that may have been done it that.

The Marvels was far more Secret Invasion related than Kang related.

I thought that might be the case.

Anyone watching Echo? I've watched the first episode, seems decent enough so far

I've also watched E1 and it was pretty good. I particularly like how many characters can sign and the program doesn't make a fuss about it. Sound design is as great as in Hawkeye. Has big Netflix Marvel energy (and not for the obvious reasons).

I've fallen behind. Need to watch seasons 2 of Loki and What If? and now Echo is already out. Bloody heck.

$225m is a huge outlay, I'm not surprised they're not giving it another season. Which is a shame as it was good fun at times.

I thought She Hulk was decent.

But $225m is strawberry floating insane.

It's mental. For comparison here were the budgets of some recent movies:

The Creator- $80 million
Oppenheimer- $100 million
Dune Part 1- $165 million
Mission Impossible 7- $219 million (net)

I wonder if they're regretting sticking in a massive CGI battle in the last episode purely to take the piss out of all the other shows.

Still less than half of what the LOTR show cost to make
