They could cast anybody and just say "this is a Kang variant". After all, we've seen a female Loki, a Richard E Grant Loki and even a crocodile Loki!

Yeah, a Kang variant i think will be the best way forward as there's already been too much groundwork laid for them to suddently switch to a different big bad.

Remember also, there were a couple of different versions of Thanos before Josh Brolin was cast.

Wasn't there like one Thanos before Brolin was cast and it was in one short post credit scene where he didn't even speak? Not really the same thing.

I actually think after Loki S2 they're in a position where they could pivot away from Kang if they really wanted to.

The Marvels was far more Secret Invasion related than Kang related.
