Someone asked the question about The Avengers lineup appearing in SHIELD and the answer was along the lines of "I'm sure Avengers could swing by".

Not sure how the rights stand when it comes to TV Shows. Cartoons are different, but I imagine live action TV would be rolled into the same movie licence contract :(

Amazing Spider-Man 4 comes out 2018 so hopefully Sony would have buried the franchise into the ground by that point and Marvel get the rights back :dread:

Chances are zero and Spider-Man has never been a prominent Avengers member anyway, he actually only joined the team around ten years ago when New Avengers started. The movie universe is leaning towards the more classic Avengers line-up.

It's probably the X-Men, Wolverine in particular, and the Fantastic Four that will be more noticeable by their absence.

Why would their absence be noticeable at all?

It's a shame the F4 rights didn't revert back as those characters would have worked well with all of the space exploration side of things happening in MCU now

Also while not related to the MCU, did anyone post about FOX linking the FF franchise with XMen? Expect Wolverine and the Fantastic Four :slol:

Wolverine is in the exact same situation as Spider-Man in that he only joined "recently" in New Avengers. Up until around mid-2000s, X-Men and Avengers never really crossed over with each other, so they won't be missed. The Fantastic Four would fit into the films perfectly in their current format, it's a shame seeing the rights go to waste at Fox.

Yeah the Mutant issues always was a bit confusing. People hate mutants who were just born with their powers, yet nobody seems to have a problem with someone who gets their powers through medical experiments like Captain America or accidents like Ms. Marvel.

Jason Statham would be perfect for the role.

Just out of interest, how much of Guardians of the Galaxy have you read, Skippy?

Cooper gets hired because girls fancy him, not his acting ability. And certainly not for his voice. For a role like this, which is pure voice acting, it would make more sense to go for pretty much anyone else. Rocket Raccoon is a great character. I will be genuinely surprised if Blandley Cooper can actually pull this role off.

EDIT: Marfo is right, Statham would actually be pretty good. Or even someone like Ron Perlman, someone with a bit of character in their voice.

Vin Diesel as Groot would be alright, but I think it would be much more amusing if they got a legit thespian for a role which appears to be nothing more than repeating the phrase "I AM GROOT!" in a variety of shouty ways.

I'll hold judgement until the first trailer but I ain't as pleased as I would have been if it had been say Statham.

Also how much does sex appeal account for when he's voicing a raccoon?

I guess they may have done it to get his name on the poster, I mean him and Vin Diesel are doing voice work only and are arguably bigger names than the lead

Also Jason Statham? I've not read the comics but how many Raccoons come from London?

If a raccoon was to talk I think it'd sound like Bradley Cooper. There's a sentence that I'd never thought I'd say.

Having read the comics Statham is pretty much perfect for the role.

For those that haven't read the comics, it's worth pointing out that he's not some sort of cutesy, Disney-style talking raccoon. Far from it, in fact
