I'm mostly going to be in Malaysia, went to the local cinema there a couple of times before and it's absolute chaos. Totally different cinema-going culture it seemed. Everyone just talks loudly while the movie is on, people sit playing games on their phones with the volume up so they can hear it over the sound of the movie, last time there were even people yelling across the room at eachother having a good chat
The sweetcorn was nice though.

I saw Dr Strange in Mumbai. We were told off for not standing for the Indian national anthem that was played before....

Wow I always thought my experience of going to the cinema in the US was odd but clearly not that bad. At the end of the films everyone stood up and clapped. The two films I saw were the Truman show and Armageddon.

I've seen standing ovations in the UK. Lord of the Rings I think.
