The only one there that is rubbish is Iron Man 2 and even that isn’t an awful film.

Thor 2 is dull rather than rubbish.

Iron Man 3 gets a lot of hate, but it’s a decent movie although nowhere near one of the best of the MCU.

Age of Ultron is a good movie, I don’t understand the hate it gets.

Civil War was great. Rubbish? strawberry float off with your bullshit.

I haven't watched Thor 2 in years, but it always felt like a bit of a slog. I think it's going to feel even worse now that Ragnarok has shown how fun a solo Thor film can be.

Civil War was missing the one thing it most desperately needed - peril. There was nothing at stake, not really. The whole film built up to this mega fight between Stark's team and Cap's team, but in the end they might as well have not bothered with the fight, as there was no point to it. All they did was punch each other a lot and then each side ran away. No-one died, no-one really suffered, it was just a big choreographed fight that didn't do gooseberry fool. It was just spectacle. Even the final fight with Stark, Cap and Bucky - they might as well have not bothered fighting, it was pure fan service and completely hollow.

Age of Ultron was the same - waves of disposable robots that posed zero threat to the heroes, it reminded me of the "Roger Roger" droids in the Star Wars prequels.

Utter wankery.

I was massively disappointed with AoU at release but I've grown to like it more over time. At it's worst it's a good example of how messy lots of different main characters in a film can potentially be (Thor cave stuff) but for the most part it's alright. I like how it's become more important as part of the lore.

*Edit* that strawberry floating "language" joke at the beginning. I assume whoever penned that corker got moved across to the TLJ writing staff.

That joke is fine. The character grew up in the 20s/30s and is a complete boy scout, it makes perfect sense that he would be sensitive to bad language and that the others would take the piss out of him for it.

Whedon wrote Cap like an old man, tbf. The "There's only one god, ma'am" line in the first Avengers film had the same sort of tone to it. He's much more "modern" now.

I re-watched the first Avengers recently and given the evolution of Cap's character I think that's one of the only lines that hasn't aged well. It's cringeworthy at best, and shows that Whedon fundamentally doesn't understand how to write Cap at worst.

Cap saying it was fine but stringing the joke out for the rest of the scene was not.

He was an old man though. Over time he’s got more used to the modern world, but early on he is a man from the 1940s.

It’d be much weirder if after getting thawed out he immediately started dabbing and posting pics on Instagram.

That’s fair enough, I didn’t mind it but I can see the same joke being made over and over would be grating.

why the hell is the Back Panther Blu-ray out in the UK almost a month after the US release? (it came out there this week)

My cinema is (presumably others too) still showing it so maybe they delayed it for that reason?
