I'd blow a gasket if that happened. Would be both hilarious and horrendous at the same time.

Saw this yesterday and loved it, the humour was excellent. Not too sure about the gold people they were very stilted, but they've clearly created a setup for one of the infinity wars films.
The Zune joke

Finally saw GotG2. Like everyone else I enjoyed it but for me it wasn't anywhere near the best MCU movies. I'll have to re-watch it again and see if my opinion changes.

GotG2 spoilers and very very minor Thor 3 spoilers
I was expecting Stallone and Russell to be Elders who would team up with Benicio del Toro (The Collector) and Jeff Goldblum (The Grandmaster) (maybe even Sam Neill too) in either Phase 4 or be the bad guy twist in Infinity War after Thanos... but they instead killed off Russell and Stallone ended up being a cameo of the original Guardians team. Seems like a wasted opportunity to use those actors.

You know he was Billy Elliot on the West End, right? :shifty: He's a dancer more than an actor.

I disagree Kurt Russell was the film's villain, so a major role, and was excellent to boot. It was a great use of a veteran actor, much like Michael Douglas, Tilda Swinton and to a lesser extent Robert Redford. It was a little disappointing to see so little of Stallone, but he's clearly being set up for the sequel so it's not a waste yet.

I genuinely couldn't understand anything Stallone said in his first scene.

Loved it. As good as the first. Some banging tunes, great gags and visually stunning.

Loved the Sam Cooke song being in there and the Zune joke made me piss.

Crosspost from Last Film thread:

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 6/10

Less "more of the same" and more "more of the same." The first film was an action romp with witty dialogue, funny moments and a few well placed licensed songs. 8/10, deffo in Marvel's top 2. The second film took these aspects, decided more was better than better and made a film that was nothing but. There's a licensed song every 5 minutes, the dialogue is entirely jokes (of which only a tiny fraction land) and every moment is played for laughs. There were a few great scenes (all in the trailer) a few good jokes ("I'm Mary Poppins y'all!") and the story was interesting once it got going, but there was too much filler, too much CGI and too many 80s pop-classics.

Disappointing.

I agree with most of that. The music wasn't as good this time, or used as well as before. I don't agree with the "more of the same" though, that's what I didn't like about this movie. It was less planet ending storytelling and replaced with a family story that didn't quite match it.

Finally got round to seeing GotG2 and I thought it was amazing. More of a comedy than anything. And I absolutely loved the clay-mation on Ego, it looked so cool. I assume it was genuine and not CGI made to look like stop-motion? Little Jimmy Urine also got much more screen time than I thought he would.

Looks like there's a new trailer for Spider-Man yesterday. Anyone seen it? I've avoided it in case it's spoilerific again

Michael Keaton looks to be suitably epic in it, in my opinion. I feel like I've literally seen half the movie now.
