They're releasing Black Panther on digital platforms and disc while Infinity War is still showing at cinemas:

Surprised that's coming out so soon, it might well end up on the high seas just before Infinity War after all

A few new clips released. One shows a battle not seen yet, the other just shows more and more footage. I'm seeing it on release date so will hopefully avoid major spoilers.

Also the directors have stated that the second films title won't be released until sometime after the film has been out, so I guess we won't hear after Antman and Wasp.

Wish my image sig would work

I stopped watching any more footage after the second trailer, I have sufficiently got hype.

Wow, where is this? I’m annoyed about how much cinema prices seem to differ around the country. I find they are quite expensive in Northampton, seem to average around £12 for an adult in vue and cineworld, depending on the film, time and day you are going. I try my hardest to go on Mondays (£3.99 Super Monday’s at vue) or use meerkat movies on Tuesday and Wednesday. I also buy vue gift cards from Costco, £33.99 for £40 worth.

Leicester. The most I've ever paid for two tickets was £23 but this really is ludicrous.

In Cardiff the Vue is only £4 a ticket. I think Cineworld was the first to drop to £4 and Vue price matched them. The Odeon has better screens but it's more than double the price now so just isn't worth it. It's odd that there's such discrepancies across the country.

Yeah you’ve mentioned the prices in Cardiff before, I still don’t get how they are so cheap there. Also my understanding from speaking to a manager at cineworld in Northampton is that the cinema only receives about 70p from tickets sales. I don’t know if this was based on the current price that they charge or a percentage of the ticket price. However it works out that the money is split up I don’t get why the prices would be so different around the country. If the film distributor is not enforcing a minimum ticket price then isn’t it in the cinemas best interest to have a lower ticket price to get more people in the building and then buying more food (where they reportedly make their money).

It means in terms of pre-sales for each, surely?

It can't have outgrossed their combined box office runs on pre-sale alone surely to strawberry float?

Given that the combined box office total of those films must be well over $3 billion, I'm guessing not. Black Panther alone is on $1.3 billion.

Yeh the text along the top of the graphic mentions pre sales. Still it's pretty good going to match the combined total of all the Phase 3 movies (so far) + Ant-Man. As far as I know each movie has outsold the previous movies in terms of presales, with Black Panther being the highest up until now.

If the movie is actually good and gets good word of mouth then maybe it has a shot at $2 billion?

Apparently Infinity War's runtime might prevent it taking more money in a single week than Star Wars 7 as it won't be possible to get as many showings in for each screen per day

Gonna go see it at the peckhamplex. It's a tenner for 2 tickets. I can't figure out how it's cheaper than most places outside of London.

My MCU re-watch and catch-up is continuing space.

Watched Age of Ultron for the first time last night - I don't know if the lukewarm view people seem to have of it now was a factor in lowering my expectations but I thought it was a bloody good film!

It's not as good as the first Avengers obviously and has some plot and pacing issues but it was still a really enjoyable watch with some excellent action sequences, great dialogue and a satisfying conclusion.

Watching AoU actually brought to my mind another reason why I think the MCU is trouncing the DCEU - for all the super powered, tooled up and generally out of this world elements that are obviously very prevalent across the genre, it manages to maintain a surprising level of humanity and a focus on the general public in the films. The conclusion to AoU is as much about the fight to save as many lives as possible and the heroic lengths the characters go to in order the protect people as it is about the showdown with Ultron. This is repeated across many of the films; protecting New York and its citizens from the the Chitauri invasion in Avengers 1, the focus as much on containment and rescue as it was on confrontation; or the rallying of the Nova Corps and Ravagers to protect Xandar in GotG. In contrast the DCEU films in most cases seem to just throw some CGI battle up onscreen and expect everyone to give a gooseberry fool.

Kevin Feige ‘Hoovering Up’ Deadpool, Fantastic Four and X-Men for Marvel’s Phase 4? Dark Phoenix, the Last Fox X-Men Movie?

Some of the best stories come from having a source in the right place at the right time with no real reason to be there. Such as Brent Andrew who found himself at attending a college speaking engagement with some high-level Fox production crew members, and.. they said things to a small crowd of 50 students that maybe they might not have done in other circumstances. And posting what he had discovered on his site Comic Genre.

This includes the information that X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be the last proper Fox Marvel movie, presumably the last in that specific continuity. And that the regular X-Men crew will be off the projects as everything will move to Disney for future chapters.

Confirming that the X-Men being integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a done deal, and merely awaiting the approval of the merger.

And that Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige is “hoovering up” all of the Fox-Marvel characters, and is already planning for them all to go into Phase 4. This includes the X-Men, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four.
