The screening I saw it in (like the first showing of the morning) were proper into it. Big laughs, cheering at the big moments, chuckling and applauding the witty snapbacks, and the woman in front of me seemed to have a proper loud sob in a quiet section towards the end
I didn't actually think it was that irritating, though. It made it all feel a bit more of an event being surrounded by all these people who are also so invested in the whole thing. Would love to know what the atmosphere is like at a midnight showing.
