It's worth watching for the Nicolas Cage insanity factor.

No set date yet other than 2015. Most people seem to be guessing around late spring time when SHIELD finishes and Avengers 2 hits cinemas.

Might get an announcement regarding that on October 11 at New York Comic-Con as well as a trailer hopefully.

If they don't show any footage or the suit at NYCCC then we should at least get a glimpse of it from concept art...

DAREDEVIL Cast To Sign Joe Quesada Concept Art At NYCC; First Logo Revealed

Image

Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce an exclusive "Marvel's Daredevil" signing event at New York Comic Con on Saturday, October 11 from 3:45-4:45 p.m. ET at the Marvel Booth (#1354)

For the first time, Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk) will meet with fans.

All fans who participate in this signing will also receive an exclusive "Marvel's Daredevil" production concept art poster, drawn by Marvel Chief Creative Officer and legendary artist Joe Quesada.

Please note: this is a ticketed event. Interested fans should arrive at the Marvel Booth when the doors open at 10:00 a.m. ET on the day of the signing to participate in a random drawing for the opportunity to get one (1) item signed by the cast.

"Marvel's Daredevil" follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City.

Marvel's first original series on Netflix is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight ("Spartacus," "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer," "Angel") and Drew Goddard ("Cabin in the Woods," "Lost," "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," in addition to writing the first two episodes of "Marvel's Daredevil"), along with Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb ("Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Smallville," "Heroes").

"Marvel's Daredevil" is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix

So, even if Marvel don't reveal any footage or live-action stills from the series next weekend, we do at least know that a first look at the costume will come from this concept art. Joe Quesada provided artwork for Kevin Smith's stellar Daredevil run, so his take on Charlie Cox's Man Without Fear should be very interesting to see. What are your thoughts on the logo above for the series?

"Marvel's Daredevil" is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. John Paesano is composing the soundtrack for the series. He has prevoously worked on The Maze Runner

And lastly the poster signing before the panel has been canceled because of nerds arguing  it's due to be rescheduled sometime. If that's the only chance of us seeing the suit :fp:

I hope that's the new costume for the first ep only.

Agreed. Probably an origins suit like they've done with Iron Man and (Garfield's Spider-Man?)

His fist is covered in blood though  this is going to be gory :shifty:

Apparently they are showing the actual suit in a few hours. Not sure if it's going to be on display, or a promo image or what.

Though Rosario Dawson was not able to attend, Loeb revealed she will play Claire Temple, and showed a clip of her stitching up Matt Murdock on her couch.

noo please say it's a fake out and she is electra :(

actually wasn't she somehow related to the heroes for hire? Specifically luke cage? Perhaps in the show she's the link between the shows somehow? Just seems a bit of a nothing role after they hyped up that she had a very special role :? EDIT - sounds like she's been morphed into the Night Nurse, definitely gona link between the shows then.

As most of you know, Daredevil is the first of five shows we're doing with Netflix. After, we're doing Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and then The Defenders.

"Just to clarify - neither the role of Jessica Jones nor of Luke Cage has been cast. Anything else is just a rumor," Loeb said definitively.

I don't think there will be a proper costume until near the end of the series.

you're probably right him having his prototype outfit right up until the end. Would make sense to hold it back until the last episode or two when he has his final face off/lead into The Defenders :datass:

I hope we are going to get more than one show a year after this  otherwise we won't get The Defenders special until 2018/2019

Asked whether "Daredevil" will connect to "Agents of SHIELD," Loeb said, "first of all, that's a Level 7 question; second, it's all connected, man."

The panel kicked off with Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb confirming that five shows will air on Netflix; Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and ultimately The Defenders. Interestingly, he added: "Just to clarify - neither the role of Jessica Jones nor of Luke Cage has been cast. Anything else is just a rumor." Why no mention of Iron Fist? It could be that we'll hear some news about casting for that role sooner rather than later seeing as there was no mention of him from Loeb. Back to Daredevil though, and Loeb shed some light on how the role of Matt Murdock was cast...before they even got the rights back from Fox! "One day the phone rings, and Joe Quesada says to me, 'I found Matt Murdock.' I didn't know what he meant. 'There's this actor. He's gonna be on Daredevil.' and I said to him, 'We don't have that property right now.' He said, 'Well we will.' The person Joe picked out that day is the person that we cast, and that is Charlie Cox."

Showrunner Steven DeKnight also shed some light on where they're turning to for inspiration, and while Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.'s Man Without Fear is clearly influencing the series, so too are two fan-favourite runs on the Daredevil comic book. "My favorite stories were the Miller run and the Bendis run - you'll really see that in the gritty tone of the show." Vincent D'Onofrio meanwhile had plenty to say about the direction they're taking The Kingpin in. "Our Wilson Fisk is a child and he's a monster. Everything he does comes from his foundation of morality inside himself. Meeting Vanessa, the one thing she does for him so far is brings him out of the shadows." He praised how personal they make it all and said it's a blast so far. "This will clearly be an origin story for that villain as well, with DeKnight making it clear we could end up rooting for both characters as we see the, "moral grey area of Matt Murdock, being a lawyer by day and a vigilante at night. We lean into him being one bad day from becoming Frank Castle. With Wilson Fisk, you'll hear an idea and go 'that's actually a pretty good idea.' You'll root for him sometimes."

British actor Charlie Cox will play the titular character, and Loeb was quick to praise his work ethic so far. "It's a real challenge, there are so many aspects to Matt. There's the physicality, the blindness; we're making a show about emotion and turmoil. We're meeting a man who believes in law and justice by day and at night takes the law into his own hands and decides what justice is himself," he reveals. "He's battling with that concept. We see a bit of Matt's father and who he wanted Matt to be. That's something that plays on Matt's mind a lot as well." Cox of course made a name for himself in Boardwalk Empire, and when one fan asked him how working on Daredevil differs to that HBO series, he revealed a little about how the series will play out in terms of being almost like a 13-hour movie for viewers. "Well, compared to a weekly show - we realized, ending with a cliffhanger is pointless. 'Oh, what happened?' and you click a button and find out! So I think more than anything else, it will feel like a 13 hour movie!"

Detailed Descriptions Of DAREDEVIL Footage
Thanks to io9 and IGN, we have two very details descriptions of the Daredevil footage shown off at the New York Comic Con earlier today. This is all much more in-depth than the first lot of details we got and sheds some new light on the highly anticipated Marvel and Netflix series. Both sites have a great recap of the Q&A part of the panel, so be sure to head on over to both sites for those by clicking on the links above. Arguably the part of these recaps which will most excite fans is the fact that Matt Murdock refers to the black suit as a work in progress, another hint that we'll see him don an actual superhero costume hopefully sooner rather than later in the 13-part show.

Triple post!!

Premiere Date For Marvel And Netflix's DAREDEVIL Revealed?
Though it's not official, the PlayStation 3 version of Netflix has a premiere date listed for Marvel's Daredevil, and it's a lot closer to the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron than you may have suspected. Will we see a tie-in of some sort between the two? Read on for details!

The ever reliable @Marvel_Spider spotted the following premiere date for Daredevil, and while it is of course subject to change or could be an error of some sort, we may now have a better idea of when we'll see the 13-part series debut on the online streaming service. Of course, it's worth nothing that May 1st is the same date that Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be released, so would Marvel be wise to release this show on the same day?! It's hard to say, although it wouldn't be at all surprising if that movie's after-credits scene was somehow tied to Daredevil and encouraged people to go home and watch it. We'll be sure to bring you more details on this when they come!

MARVEL TELEVISION NARROWS CHOICES OF ACTORS FOR LUKE CAGE, JESSICA JONES

Deadline reported Wednesday that Marvel is testing actors for the leading roles of its "Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage" television collaborations with Netflix.

Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer and Jessica De Gouw are all reported to have tested for the leading role of Jessica Jones, while Lance Gross and Mike Colter are two actors under consideration for Luke Cage, who is reported to appear in six or seven episodes of "Jessica Jones" before headlining his own "Luke Cage" series.

Fans of comic book-based TV shows will likely be most familiar with De Gouw, who has appeared as Helena Bertinelli/The Huntress on "Arrow." Ritter is best known for her roles on "Don't Trust the B--- in Apt. 23" and "Breaking Bad," Daddario recently played Lisa Tragnetti on HBO's "True Detective" and Palmer was the female lead in 2013 zombie comedy "Warm Bodies."

As for the two actors said to be under consideration for Luke Cage, Lance Gross is one of the main actors in NBC's "Crisis," while Mike Colter has appeared on "The Good Wife" and "American Horror Story."

"Jessica Jones" is the second drama of four in the Marvel/Netflix deal with reports placing Melissa Rosenberg as showrunner. The series centers on the eponymous character, a retired costume superhero-turned jaded private investigator. In the source material, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage started a romantic relationship, had a child and were married.

"We are very aware of the idea that a number of the people who watch the show are going to binge-watch it," Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb told CBR in October of "Daredevil," the first Marvel/Netflix series, set to debut in 2015. "For them, it will feel like one massive 13-part epic adventure. But it is not that unlike when in the world of comics, a new team comes on to tell an arc -- that arc is a self-contained, beautifully told story that has a particular point of view. Hopefully our driving momentum makes you want to pick up the next issue; or in this case, the next episode."

I still think that guy who plays Mac in SHIELD is a perfect Luke Cage.

Mike Colter is great in The Good Wife but I think he's slightly too old for Cage.

UPDATE 11/20/14 10:55 AM PT: The lists of contenders for the roles of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have reportedly each grown by one: Deadline has updated their original story to state that Marin Ireland, star of recently canceled WE tv series "The Divide," is also testing for Jessica Jones, along with the previously reported Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer and Jessica De Gouw. Additionally, Cleo Anthony -- who this year appeared in "Transparent" and "Divergent" -- is reportedly under consideration for Luke Cage; along with Lance Gross and Mike Colter.

I dunno man, I think he's the most Luke Cage looking out of the three. I'll be reasonably surprised if Daddario isn't cast as Jessica Jones.

Incidentally, I'm really excited for The Defenders - if they do it right they can incorporate them into Doctor Strange... :shifty:

Rosario Dawson Tells Us Everything She Possibly Can About ‘Daredevil’
Marvel is infamous for shrouding its projects in secrecy — all the better for a dramatic unveiling — and the upcoming “Daredevil” miniseries, a collaboration with online streaming platform Netflix, is no exception to the rule.

In an interview with MTV News at a press day for the upcoming “Top Five,” in which she stars alongside Chris Rock, Rosario Dawson kept her lips mostly sealed when it came to chatting about “Daredevil.”

Dawson plays Clair Temple, also known as the Night Nurse, and would appear to be both a love interest for the titular Daredevil and a trusted stitcher-upper of superheroes.

Can’t talk about it though,” she said. “Not even a little bit. I can tell you that you will find strange people lurking in dark corners of your house if you keep persisting. Marvel is a beast.

There’s like a cyanide fill in my tooth,” she warned, for use in case she was tempted to slip up and spill info before the May 2015 release date.

Clair also appears in the comic lore of “Doctor Strange,” another in-the-works Marvel movie. Will Dawson pop up in that?

Wouldn’t that be awesome?” she said. “Just put in a good word for me. Get this trending.

After expanding on her love for comics and their complex storylines, she shared her real dream: flight.

“I’d like to be able to fly at some point, I’ve got my aspirations,” she said.

Watch more in the clip above.
