Not sure how many people are playing this but I'm loving it!

Each game has three locations, each with an effect. Each turn you spend energy to lay cards at these locations which gives you power there. At the end of six turns the player with a higher power at more of the locations wins. Different cards have different abilities as well (multipliers, destroying other cards etc). You do challenges, get new cards, build new decks, all that jazz!

Currently rocking a fairly basic strategy where I flood the middle with Medusa and Mr Fantastic to get their bonuses, and augment that with Blue Marvel and his bonus. Along with Mantis, Scarlett Witch and White Queen to do some stealing/disruption to my opponent that's doing me pretty well. I've been trying to experiment with more destructive cards (some cards give bonuses and buffs if you destroy them), but I struggle to control the cards that get destroyed. In one game I stacked a location in preparation for laying Carnage to give him the bonus from eating all cards at a location, but I laid another destructive card and ended up destroying Carnage :fp:

I like how the abilities are nicely suited to each character card (Nightcrawler can teleport, Heimdall can move cards around etc). The coolest thing I've managed to do was use Heimdall on the final turn to transport my Odin card to a location where I was losing but playing new cards there wasn't allowed, winning me the match - felt proper badass there :datass:

My highest score for a single location is 8960: I thought this was a bug until I googled and found out what the real highest score was :dread:

I got very hooked on it when it first came out. I got up to collection level 270, and rank 55 before burning myself out.

I've seen erstwhile forum regular Dalagonash tweeting about it. It looks pretty great, but it's all a bit of a mystery to me, not being immersed in the lore/characters.

I am enjoying it but I’ve not got far enough in to really engage with any kind of meta (I’m still using mostly starting cards and winning most of the time). I wouldn’t say I’m particularly immersed in the Marvel comics history so a lot of characters are a mystery to me. I wouldn’t let that dissuade you, rinks.

The snap mechanic is a great concept, for raising the stakes, and simultaneously playing cards and revealing gives it a very poker-like feel. A full snap for the final round gives you the edge-of-your-seat thrill of seeing out the river in a high stakes game. I always forget to do it though, unless the other player does it first.

It does have a very pokerish feeling to it, yeah. It's very tense when it's the last turn and you're trying to decide whether to spread your bets over multiple areas or double down on a location.

I played someone called Pell just now, might have had my first GR derby

I've just got into this as well, loving it. Played it basically non stop the past few days. Trying to just so the missions now so I don't get burnt out on it.

It's such a great phone game though, I can see myself playing it on the train when I'm back at work.

Here's my go to deck if anyone is interested in using it

My favourite cards are probably Gamora, Jessica Jones and Doctor Strange

# (1) Elektra
# (1) Iceman

# (2) Carnage
# (2) Wolverine
# (3) Wolfsbane

My favourite strat is playing Gamora turn 5, activating her ability then teleporting her to a different spot with strange and also playing Wolfsbane, catches a lot of people off guard just suddenly having 20 points added to a different spot

It's the only game that's hooked me in months.

It's only made one error in the week or so I've been playing it. (Collection level -a ladder where you unlock cards, card boosters* and currency** needed to spend said boosters- requirement points went from 2 per level to 4 at lvl 214.)

* and ** are given away elsewhere, as well.

Gwent on Witcher 3 is the only other vg card game I enjoyed.

I have a deck called Chesney Hawkes comprising of all 1-cost cards (apart from Kazar and Captain Marvel). I just had an opponent use Lockjaw (a card that replaces any subsequent card you play at that location with another one) to play THREE Killmongers (a card that destroys all 1-cost cards).

THREE!

That kind of gooseberry fool is why this game is so good though  there's so many crazy effects and combinations.

It doesn't feel like a card game to me, it feels like what Pokémon battling should have been. Scratches the game itch for me anyway. It's just faster, more complex and FAR better balanced.

Also, anyone like spamming the Spiderman emote when you both play the same card? :slol:

YES 8-)

I tried to explain why this was funny to my wife who has neither seen the meme or expressed any interest in Marvel Snap. Went well

I can imagine  "It's the pointing meme!" "Okay dear"

Has anyone had the chance to use Galactus yet? What an absurd card, so fun to use. The animation too!

I got it as one of those 0 cost level 6 cards for filling up a zone. Destroyed all the other cards but ai had nova and wolverine down so it powered him up and wolverine joined him :D

It is? My phone lasts quite a long time. At least 4 or so hours of game time I'd guess.

Just make sure the graphics and frame rate are on the lowest.

Man! Had a real bad run thanks to the places being a right pita. I had one which gave out a random card which... PLAYED ALL MY CARDS FOR ME  Although that match I somehow managed to win :fp:
