I've read the comparison but I don't really see it myself. The "loot" doesn't even come into the game until halfway through, and each character only has 4 skills so there is no player choice other than which to level up.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Plays similarly but it doesn't have a deep loot system for gear like Diablo does.

Nintendo Life wrote:The much awaited first DLC bundle of characters for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is arriving on 30th September. The pack, entitled Curse of the Vampire, contains a line up first revealed at San Diego Comic Con with Blade, Moon Knight, Punisher and Morbius joining the fray. That's not all you'll find included in the expansion, though.

A new Gauntlet Mode will enable up to four players to run a series of challenges in quick succession in order to earn rewards. There's also an Endurance Mode - no prizes for guessing what that entails!

Outside the DLC Expansion Pass content, there's also a bunch of free updates on the way which will bring alternate costumes for all the playable characters. This starts on the 30th August with new threads for Spider-Man, Hulk and Captain Marvel. That day will also see the release of Cyclops and Colossus as playable characters, too.

Blade, Moon Knight and Morbius :toot: .

Finally, costumes that aren't just a simple palette swap.

Cyclops and Colossus are beasts and those new costumes beat anything already in the game. Shame they're hard as hell to get.

What do you have to do to unlock the costumes?

Prepare to step into the boots of Punisher, Blade, Moon Knight and Morbius - the Marvel Knights are joining the alliance starting today!

These new playable characters are part of MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order DLC Pack 1 - Marvel Knights: Curse of the Vampire, which will be available in the Nintendo Switch game starting later tonight. DLC Pack 1 is included with the paid MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order Expansion Pass, which also includes a new mode.

In Gauntlet Mode, up to four players take on a frenzied series of co-op challenges in rapid succession to earn rewards. Once you've cleared a Gauntlet, you will unlock a survival-style version of it with continuous waves of challenges. Find out how long you can last and see how your score stacks up with online rankings.

In addition to the paid DLC in Pack 1, a free update for anyone who owns the game is also available now. The update will add new outfits for Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and Black Panther, among others, as well as other free content like a more-difficult "Nightmare" story mode with new battle rules.

Loving that the game is getting some free DLC, I'll have to go back and finish the main story soon.

Is this game worth it? Might pick it up in January. I loved the originals but wasn't sure whether making the jump to Switch it would work.

It's a lot of characters and fan service. It's insanely grindy. It's more of MUA 2 rather than 1. As no customisation or builds really just 4 powers each. If you get it and the season pass then it has a ton of characters and it's old school fun. I enjoyed it in parts but it really does depend on how much you like the grind and characters.

Season pass is essential for the amount you get and additional modes and bits.

Thankfully they added Cyclops as a free DLC character for everyone so the game instantly became better.

I've still not unlocked all characters due to the grind but I'm looking forward to having everyone to play with.

Cheers for the advice. Might try to pick it up if it ever drops. Not a big fan of grinding out games especially with the limited time I have playing games as it is

The final part of the expansion pass will launch on 26 March.

Assemble your Ultimate Team with some heroic new additions. The Fantastic Four will join the alliance to take on the man in the iron mask himself, Doctor Doom, when MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order DLC Pack 3 – Fantastic Four: Shadow of Doom releases on 3/26!

I haven't played them myself, Orange, but I understand that each update has delivered additional game modes and extra challenges alongside the new characters. I don't *think* that there has been any new storyline aspects, though.
