It's a movie, looks like a pretty good movie (not seen it yet), but it really is just a movie, not a world changing activist dickhead march inducing thing, and a lot of people (on all sides) seem to be getting hysterical over it for no clear reason other than the fact that they have nothing more important to be focusing on.

No, it’s not just a movie, it’s a significant cultural milestone. It’s naive to suggest otherwise, especially in the world’s current climate.

I really need to start Ta-Nehisi Coates' run of Black Panther that I bought an absolute age ago. I think Christopher Priest's arc bogged the character down for me.
Looking forward to this one, first Marvel movie in quite a while I've wanted to bother with.

You should check out the Rise of the Black Panther mini series that just started the other month it's pretty good too so far. Think it's only gonna be five issues.

Is it standalone from the main current run? I'll (eventually) take a look.BID0 wrote:Never read a solo BP story. In fact I think the only one I've read with the character in has been avengers v x-men where he is part of the illuminati
That reminds me, the Black Panther parts to the Avengers Secret Wars books was one of the few parts I liked on that whole run. Something about the Christopher Priest series felt incredibly dated and just uninteresting.
Minoru wrote:I thought it was really good. It was a little different from the usual Marvel fair, which was refreshing. The humour was good and a lot less forced than Thor 3 IMO. It had some really strong moments and good fights too. Characters were great, I really loved Shuri and Okoye especially.
Did anyone stay till the end of the credits? I couldn't and I'm curious to know what the second scene was.
