In Marvel’s Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead. From Bethesda and Arkane Lyon, the studio that brought you Dishonored and “DEATHLOOP”, Marvel’s Blade is a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.

Development on Marvel’s Blade has just begun, but we’re thrilled to be able to make this announcement in honor of Blade’s 50th anniversary!

Bethesda Softworks and Marvel Games have announced that Arkane Lyon, creators of the critically acclaimed and award-winning DEATHLOOP and Dishonored series, are creating a new mature, single-player, third-person game based on the comic book hero Blade.

“In honor of Blade’s 50th anniversary, we have found the perfect match for the Daywalker in Arkane Lyon, a studio of uncompromising artists who continually push the boundaries of game design and innovation,” said Bill Rosemann, VP and Creative Director of Marvel Games. “In addition to their award-winning talent, it’s their personal passion and bold vision for our half-human, half-vampire iconoclast that makes this collaboration a perfect fit.”

Arkane Lyon have just begun development on the game which will feature an original story with the studio’s signature immersive gameplay and world-class narrative.

“As a kid of mixed origins, I felt a special connection to Blade – a hero with a dual heritage himself,” said Dinga Bakaba, Game Director, Arkane Lyon. “The opportunity to put our spin on this character is a dream of mine and a challenge that our team embraces with a passion. We couldn’t be happier to put players in Blade’s boots, as he becomes the champion of my hometown of Paris, one stake at a time.”

Marvel’s Blade game will take players to a quarantined section of Paris in the middle of a supernatural emergency. Vampires have emerged, terrorizing the city of lights and forcing Parisians to shelter inside their homes at night to wait for sunrise.

“From his trench coat to his iconic sunglasses, Blade is a slick, stylish, and driven character,” said Sebastien Mitton, Co-Creative and Art Director, Arkane Lyon. “This project is the perfect opportunity to push Arkane’s art style into an even more modern and bold territory. The essence of our work lives at the junction of impactful ideas and innovative know-how.”

Bit weird having no platforms announced. Maybe

1) It's multiplatform as the deal was signed before Bethesda joined Xbox.
2) It's coming out on the next Xbox.
3) They're keeping the exclusitivity quiet as the FTC are still sniffing around.

I've got faith that this will be a return to form. Very much looking forward to this.

Dinga seems like a guy who genuinely cares about his art

Return to form? This is from the Lyon studio who have only ever made amazing games. :datass:

Very excited to see what they come up with here - whilst I would have been all over a new Deathloop or Dishonored I was kind of hoping that they actually had something new in the works and so this has got me properly pumped!

Just hope if can avoid the Marvel curse which seems to have struck down any game adaptation that isn't Spider-Man recently...

Wasn't Midnight Suns well received?

I'm interested in this - it's Arkane - but it being Marvel rather than a new and original IP is a bit disappointing personally.

In general yes, but sold poorly

I don't care what it is, if it's by Arkane Lyon then I'm playing it.

Guardians of the Galaxy was also pretty well received (and rightfully so because it has a great story!) but sold poorly.

They used to be the same, then after the first Dishonored they were split into Arkane Lyon and Arkane Austin.

It's more or less now confirmed to be exclusive, all the ITK's have said it and the trailer just popped up on Xbox's YT channel.
