She's not the only one who's going to need a bionic arm.

Have to say this isn't as gripping as DD or JJ, I think it suffers from lack of compelling villain.

This is miles better than the other Marvel shows, first 20 minutes of the pilot alone does more interesting stuff with the narrative than Daredevil

Yeh I really like it. A lot more character driven and all of the scenes are shot beautifully, I really like the colour pallets chosen

Episode 2 was emotional : cry :

Charles Bradley on episode 3

Ep 10:
The political campaign isn't convincing at all
The police beat a kid, ergo everyone hates Luke Cage ergo GIVE THE POLICE EVEN MORE POWERFUL GUNS
That's worse than most comic logic

The extended cameo in the penultimate ep is really weird

1x07- I think that death might be a mistake for the show. Cottonmouth was a great villain.

It'll be interesting to see how many people write it off because of that fact.

I'm just about to finish up. Overall it suffers the same thing they all do. gooseberry fool is too long and overstays its welcome. Could lose 2 episodes easy.

Only one episode in myself but from what's gone before I'd say that only JJ could have done with tightening up, that had a bit of a lull in parts. I thought DD was pretty well paced and enjoyable throughout.

On the first point I did think to myself during that first scene of everyone chatting in the barber shop that there are going to be a bunch of folks who see that far and think "nah, not for me thanks", which would be a real shame.

I'd agree with it being slightly too long but it's not as bad as Jessica Jones where they had about six episodes worth of plot and 13 episodes to fill

Guarantee you this will lead to at least one reviewer whining that everyone who dies is a minority

Finished all 13 episodes.

Overall, I enjoyed it, didn't expect or want to see Cottonmouth killed off. I found some of the action scenes looked a bit weird like it was slow to watch a punch being thrown etc, although I think given a proper punch would be an instant kill, it makes sense that Luke Cage holds back.

DAT AFRO. :datass:

I agree that 13 episodes is probably too many for these shows given the episodes are closer to an hour than 45 minutes like most TV series.

I think DD season 2 and JJ is better than Luke Cage, but Luke Cage is a comfortable 3rd.I don't particularly rate DD season 1 too highly.

I fully expect Punisher to take the number 1 spot.

Except there are plenty of non-black characters in the show, including Asian, Hispanic and Caucasian people.

The show is set in Harlem ffs, there's bound to be a large proportion of black people in it, I personally couldn't care less about the skin colour/ethnicity of anyone in it as it doesn't have any effect on my enjoyment of it.
