I wonder if that bit at the end is a hint that you battle Kraven, not as Venom, but as one of the 2 Spidey’s with the symbiote? Could then lead to Kraven getting the symbiote later in the game perhaps.
At the end of Spider-Man you see a cutscene where Norman is speaking to Harry in a water filled medical chamber. It is obvious that he’s got infected with symbiotie. So it’s possible that we will see Harry Venom.

Yeah but I wonder if this will be a swerve of some kind, I could see a scenario where Spider-Man finds out and gets involved, the symbiote escapes and latches onto either Spidey and thus causing a problem with Harry and leading to Norman becoming GG for the third game
Was thinking about ways they may take the story in this, one way I was thinking was something like (Potential spoilers for the ending of Spider-Man)
ACT ONE Norman revives Harry via the symbiote, Harry gets taken over and resembles Venom from the Ultimate Universe. Doesn’t have as many powers and is taken out by the 2 Spideys, the costume leaves Harry, attaches to Peter and Harry gets taken away, Norman is exposed for being a git and thus starts his hatred for Spider-Man.
ACT TWO Basically cover the Alien Costume saga, Kraven arrives and challenges the Spider-Men, the one with the black suit wipes the floor with him almost killing him. The act ends with them getting the suit off Peter after realising its trying to take over his body which then makes its way to Kraven
ACT THREE Retelling of Kravens Last Hunt, he returns as Venom, all the Spider powers and the white Spider on his chest. He kicks the crap out of the Spider’s, burying one alive and then takes over as being Spider-Man until Peter and Miles eventually team up and beat him for good.
This is a game where I'm perhaps even more excited about the story than I am the gameplay. I don't know about everyone else but I think that's a rarity in this media. Insomniac did such an impressive job with story on the first game and I absolutely can't wait to see what they do next.

I loved the universe insomniac created, it’s one of my favourite versions of the character (more than the movie versions)
I realise the argument has been absolutely done to death at this point but my one hope for the story is that Insomniac work to represent New York and it’s politics in a more sincere way in the new game. I love this universe and I really believe it has a chance to create a narrative that bursts out of both gaming and superhero media to be taken seriously. Best of luck to them.
Seconding being more excited for the story. Getting around the city was always fun, the combat however I found got pretty tedious, especially towards the end when all the enemies were tanky, shielded, taser-wielding pricks.
Speaking on a recent episode of the This Week in Marvel podcast, Creative Vice President of Marvel Entertainment Bill Rosemann gave fans a brief insight into what they can expect from Spider-Man 2.
"If the first Spider-Man game was Star Wars, Spider-Man 2 is kind of our Empire," Rosemann said. "It gets a little darker." Insomniac's first Spidey adventure did well to set fans up with the studio's take on Peter Parker by exploring elements of the character's superhero secret identity and relationships without leaning too far too early into some of Spidey's grittier storylines.
Looks like more of the same which is to be expected. Looks great fun though, expanded map to include Queens makes me wonder how much more they have expanded it. Visually it looks a step up from the previous games as well.
Interested to see how they go about getting the symbiote onto Peter, will he discover Harry and in trying to free him from his confinement gets it onto him? Could see them going in the direction of ‘Harry is only being kept alive due to the symbiote and thus they reunite and form Venom.
TLDR - You can switch between them whenever you want in the open world, but story missions will have Peter/Miles specific sections where you have to change.
EDIT: Also separate ability/tech trees for each of the two and a third "shared" one.
Looking forward to this. Hoping it'll be November at the earliest though. Got too many other big games coming before it and I'd like some breathing room.
