It was a brilliant game but it was also very short though.

Just finished this, it was a good, fun game. Opens up a lot of possibilities for a really hard-hitting MM story if they decide to keep Miles' universe front and centre. And Insomniac absolutely should be doing that, because he's way more interesting than Peter Parker at the moment.

Coming to PC on 12th August.

Picked it up with PS Plus and really enjoying it.

I went from thinking the combat was clunky to marvelling at how well it was implemented pretty quickly! I'm already at 40% completion, which is fine as I paid pretty much nothing for it, but would have been disappointing if I paid full price for it. Graphics are some of the most impressive I've seen on PS5 so far.

I downloaded this as part of the new PS Plus Premium service and I just can't get into it at all. There's something about the traversal and combat that feels very off and I find myself dreading the general gameplay loop. It's hard to put a finger on but the overall web-swinging and climbing feels very floaty. You know how CGI action scenes can feel weightless because the physics aren't right? It's like that for me. Similarly, the combat feels like an overly complex (I know, I know - git gud) and less weighty version of the Arkham system (which I replayed as part of the same PS Plus service). Lastly, it just feels so formulaic. It's like Arkham combat x Uncharted cutscenes and budget x Ubisoft collectathons. I genuinely don't understand the praise.

I absolutely admire the game and the recreation of Manhattan, script and overall direction is top class, but there's nothing new or unique in the actual gameplay.

I sort of get this. I think it needs a bit it time. I found it the same as you at first. But when you open up a few more skills and gadgets and moves, it starts to click. Towards the end it’s great. I’ve just started mikes morales and I like it.

But yeah, it’s very Batman. But that’s a very good thing.

I yesterday after getting in through PS+ Extra. I really enjoyed it, though I really disliked how often they made you walk around slowly to get you to connect to characters. The animation is sublime and Miles swinging is more dynamic than Peters so can be more fun to engage with. Combat feels a bit tightened up too and remains really fun. I like how they always tried to keep you in control as much as possible during cinematic moments. Story I was pretty indifferent too but I don’t really expect much else from a Spidey game and if it’s a choice of more action over more sitting at a dinner table having a boring conversation then I’d definitely prefer the former.

I really liked the character interaction moments, the scenes at the dinner table, Christmas village and science museum were all really well done and fun to look around/be apart of.

The science museum went on FOREVER.
