Man, if Jim Ryan had really said that I would like him so much more.

I really needed a laugh.

I think it’s safe to say this is a filler between the first and next Spidey games, use this game to build Miles and then the sequel will likely feature both playable Pete/Miles.

I hope they make Miles play differently

My expectation is the same map with a handful of new areas added (Like Arkham Origins took the Akham City map and added a new area at the top).

Check out some of our stuff!

More info from Insomniac:

We know a lot of you want to know how big this game is. Our team at Insomniac has been working incredibly hard to bring you a fantastic Miles Morales adventure since we concluded development on Marvel’s Spider-Man. You’ll experience a full story arc with Miles, one that’s more akin to a game like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in terms of overall scope. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is an important, heartfelt, emotional and essential experience to expanding the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe. And we hope it will be for you as well.

We are also excited for the game to demonstrate the power of PlayStation 5 this holiday. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will show off near-instant loading, ray-tracing, 3D audio and the DualSense controller. We’ve upgraded our characters with 4D scans and improved skin shading for more realistic looking characters and spline-based hair that moves far more naturally. Many of the city’s assets have also been updated to take advantage of the new console. As you experience Miles’s story, you’ll see, hear, and feel things in a whole new way, all thanks to PS5.

Big tidbits from above

Takes place 1 year after the first game
Full game; akin to Uncharted: Lost Legacy in scope
"Near instant" loading
Ray-tracing, 3D audio
NYC assets updated to take advantage of PS5

Also, sounds like Bryan Intihar is currently at work on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

It’s been great to also work with Bryan Intihar, who directed the first game, as he continues to imagine big things for the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.
Oh and one last thing: Many of you fans have wondered if Peter Parker is OK. Don’t worry, we still have much of Peter’s story left to tell. But this game is all about Miles, a critical part of our Spider-Man universe, and you won’t want to miss what happens.

Uncharted Lost Legacy wasn't a full game, though. It was a stand alone expansion; longer than your average DLC, but shorter than a traditional full release.

Just as long as it’s a bit longer than Resident Evil 3.

At least Sony priced up Uncharted LL fairly at £25.

I wonder if this will be priced similarly to how Uncharted LL was or if this will be a full priced next gen release?

Let’s be frank - Lost Legacy was a fairly long game. It’s longer than Uncharted 1 (maybe 2&3) and longer than Resi 3, which they charged 50 snoops for. And it was great.

Just to be clear, I wasn't implying LL wasn't a good game.

edit: too early :fp:

7hrs was the average for Lost Legacy - https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=41814

UC1 - 8.5, UC2 - 10.5, UC3 - 9, UC4 - 15. Resi 3 - 6.

When a game's length has a direct connection to its quality, perhaps then I'll care. This argument of a game having to be X amount of hours long to have worth is just so old and tired.

I'm done now. I'm going to love the strawberry float out of this game when I buy a launch PS5 and that's all that I care about.

Played all those bar Resi 3. Spent many, many more hours on them, on first playthrough.
