This is not a good thing.

It may not be a good thing in terms of the games we want to play, but it sure as hell makes my life easier!

I wouldn't panic. The PS3 port of ME2 was spot on.

Yeah I played through both the 360 and ps3 versions last time around and it was fine for the mot part. Still I'll keep an ear to the ground!

Quick question about Wrex and his story line . What was that about ? Why do they need the female for ?

It's been a while since I finished me1 and 2

His race (the Krogan) has been infected with the genophage by the Salarians. This causes most babies to be still born. They did this to control the Krogon population, as they breed like strawberry floating rabbits and are dangerous as strawberry float. Not very ethical.

Female Krogans are also quite rare and valuable. I 'think' these ones might not be infected, so can produce many babies.

AH!

Can't wait for this.

Enjoyed the demo although I'm hoping it was from an early build. The graphics are decent but it seems a little disjointed and the framerate on the ps3 version isn't the best although it's still very playable. Why can't you holster your gun during a mission though ? and I seem to be getting an annoying fuzzy sound through my headset which is specific to this game :fp: the sound design in general is poor actually, the Reaper invasion is far to quiet and it's almost laughable considering they're trying to get an emotional response. The second section was much better and some of the vistas were lovely.

Not sure I like the standard female character either but i'll carry by ME2 character over for my first playthrough of the third game. The only problem being I killed off Aisley during the interactive comic and she seems like a far more interesting character the Kaiden.

Anyway it doesn't seem to be a game that demos well but I enjoyed it and it's a day 1 purchase.

What is it about the infiltrator that makes it good? I can see how the overload is useful, but they dont have that. I really like making singularities, but the warm down time has been doubled for 3(/this demo?) :x

Infiltrator has ridiculous tactical cloak which also increases sniper rifle damage by 70-75% when enabled. They also have Disruptor Ammo which tears through shields. In ME2 Insane, I just took Miranda and either Garrus or Thane the whole time to cover Warp and Overload. I also took Jack's Warp Ammo power so I had every useful bullet type to basically one shot any enemy while cloaked.

Did that work for you in the demo (did you have the chance)? I know they borked the adept from 1 to 2, and i just about got by by taking an overload with me for the shields, but i was struggling with insane to the point where i gave up. They may well have borked your winning strategy for you for 3?

Apparently Fargo you won't be able to holster your weapon in the game (apart from when you're in 'hub' areas like Citadel, Normandy, etc). Apparently it's a memory issue.. When i get the chance i'll find the quote the Bioware dev gave. It probably annoys me a lot more than it should  But I always liked holstering my weapon when the combat had died down :shifty:

Very concerned about the animation in the game though...some look down right awful to be honest. I'm hoping they've been tightened up for the final build..

I did choose Infiltrator and I maxed Tactical Cloak ready to try it. Then they didn't give me a sniper rifle. :fp:

Infiltrators still have the 70% extra damage with sniper rifles while stealthed ability at the end of the Tactical Cloak and the Disruptor Ammo ability still remains so I imagine it'll be the same.

My main Jane Shepperd is a Vanguard anyway. I just used the Infiltrator for that achievement specifically, although it is also fun to play.

I was having trouble with that on hardcore and then noticed that Garrus and Liara were just standing there staring off into space. Then when they did decide to help me out they were too dumb to use cover and got wiped out easily. Maybe they forgot to programme AI tactics for when facing that kind of enemy?

I think even in ME2 the friendly AI was a bit dodgy. You always had to order them into position otherwise their positional tactics were generally very bad. That last counter the enemy quickly advances into a fairly "open battlefield" and therefore immediately can overwhelm your cover and flank you easily. Unless you made your friendly ai constantly catch up with you, they would just get surrounded. The cover layout of that bit is also fairly harsh on the player.

On Insane in ME2 I found that against the heavy droids and those shockwave casting geth they'd always die unless you ordered them to go where you wanted them to.
