Medieval 2 Cheats

Im currently struggling so I need some er help. :shifty:

Ive found the money cheats for this game and it says to press the ~ key to bring down the console, is there any reason why I cant do this, it doesnt allow me to type anything?

Its the gold version Im playing btw but that shouldnt make any difference surley?

Pressing ~ to get the console may need to be switched on in the menu.

Try pressing ` Its on the top left before 1 under Esc.

Tried both, the button under esc dont do anything, and in the keyboard layout in the menus, there isnt even an option to bring the console down?

They say use ~ because I believe yank keyboards are different in their layout, you just have to find the key which corresponds.
