Dev update...
Getting close now. Probably another 6-7 weeks of coding, then over for QA.
Hopefully (fingers crossed) I can get it up on the app-store for end of June.

Cheers Jawa. It's been a true 1 person bedroom coding effort just like the old days. I wanted the game to retain a slightly '80s vibe with pixelated visuals and retro 8bit fx and music - but with modern tech. So it plays at 60fps and can render quite a bit of stuff on a humble phone.

I'll need to update the O/P with some more screenies soon as the status display has been filled out and updated. Also the video somehow got squashed when I was streaming it from iPad (still learning some of the videoing techniques :simper: )

Shame you don't have an iOS device. I might stream some game playthrough vids once its on AppStore, so you could at least follow the game a little.

Anyway latest update is that I'm finishing off the final boss in the game as we speak - and then - it's done \o/ barring the game credits which I'll put together something fun while I send it off to some folks I trust who will do the QA for me.

So fingers crossed I'm probably looking at end of June for launch.

I will have some free download codes available at that point for sending out to reviewers. If there are any folks on here who have game review sites and want to do a review then there should be some available.

Thanks Rog. It's been a lot of fun.

I started in January, but most of that month was spent learning Apple's new programming language Swift and the 2D development framework SpriteKit (I'm a C# developer by profession so it wasn't too bad and Swift is an absolutely awesome language) .

So....at the moment it will be only iOS for those reasons. But I'll never say never for a port. Hopefully you'll be able to get to play it on someone else iPad or phone for the moment.

We are through beta testing without issue ... :toot:

So just waiting for AppStore review process, and then website reviews before we go for launch.

Congrats, Starquake! I can't get over how cool it must feel to develop and release a game :toot: . Medieval Monsters looks pretty funky with plenty of retro goodness and, If I get an iOS device, I'll be really keen to try it out.

It'd be ace to hear from any GRcadians who have given the game a go. Let's get Medieval!

Version 1.1 will be available shortly - just with Apple at the moment.

It contains a brand new control option giving super-tight player control.

Thanks for everyone who has supported me so far. Sales are good, and the game is consistently in the TouchArcade hot games list!
