Seems to be well optimised as well. Rock solid 60fps with ultra settings at 1440p. 4k is too much for my system with fps dropping to 30 unfortunately.
Think some of the reviews of this have been a bit harsh.
I haven't read any of the reviews or seen the scores it's getting.
I'm loving it so far, on to the second open area and finally got a sniper rifle with a decent scope. You get a van to drive about in too which was a nice surprise. Other than the reveal trailer I've gone into this completely blind so I had no idea about it being a lot less linear the the previous games.
I run out of bullets far too often. the first part with the mental worshippers?
Shot them all
This is great. Really difficult imo. I fare better in the tunnels as it's linear, out in the open you need to watch the skies, water and open ground Love it
Completed this earlier. Excellent game and definitely my favourite in the trilogy. It does a really god job of switching between the traditional Metro linear gameplay and the open world stuff and doesn't outstay its welcome. Final chapter was brilliant .
Just finished this. It ties with RE2 as m6 GotY. Absolutley awesome. The last part was excellent. Unmatched story telling for a fps. Got the gooseberry fool ending. Don't think I can play it through all again as it was some effort and there are other games coming out.

Just started this. Enjoying it so far but I find the gun switching really confusing, nothing appears to be named so I can’t tell what’s hat and the stats don’t show so you never know if picking up a dropped weapon is worthwhile. Kind of pushes me toward checking out of the game as happened with past Metro’s, but the world is keeping me hooked this time.
People talk a lot don’t they, though maybe it feels that way because I have it in Russian.
I think I’m done with this. I like the characters and mechanic of travelling region to region, picking up new people and developing the train. The core moment to moment gameplay though I just don’t find particularly engaging and the visuals are muddy in a way that makes shooting people really frustrating. Also the way-pointing is really bad I seem to wander around in circa lot because everything kind of looks the same and it’s really not clear where the game wants you to go most of the time. It’s the furthest I’ve ever gotten through a Metro game but ultimately I don’t think this series is for me.
Why is my PS4 resetting downloads whenever I put it into rest mode?I recently ran into an issue where my external hard drive needed to be reformatted, and I needed to reinstall a lot of my games. One of the games has been crashing at the main menu, and other options have been tried to fix it. I’ve opted to just reinstall the game again, but now there’s a problem. The update file being downloaded is about 60 gigs, and typically I would put the PS4 in rest mode to download. However, when I go to check the status of the download, it’s restarted! The amount of gigabytes required changes too, even though it’s the same update.
Is the PS4 compensating for the gigs already downloaded and just making a new progress bar each time? I don’t want to have to keep resetting the progress, but I’m wary about leaving my PS4 on overnight.
Check in the settings that your USB ports aren't set to switch off while the PS4 is in rest mode. Should be under power settings, I think, default is a few hours IIRC.

Welcome back to GRcade, EnragedYogi! Exodus appears to have a split of enthusiasts and critics; how are you finding it?
Thanks Jawa! Really enjoyed what I've played so far, but I've got sidetracked with other games. I may start again as I'm definitely on for the bad ending so far! It's more metro extermination with my play style
It's one of those games where I hear how long the campaign is, but know you can multiply that by 4 as I'll be wandering around to check every area fully as it's so atmospheric.

We’re currently hard at work on bringing Metro Exodus to Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5 next year. While we can’t share all the details just yet, you should expect major enhancements including faster frame rate, increased resolution, reduced loading times, and stunning Ray Tracing features made possible by the new hardware. The new consoles are amazing, and will allow us to deliver visual enhancements and performance only possible on state of the art PC hardware and RTX enabled cards – until now.
We’re happy to confirm that these enhanced versions will also be made available as a free upgrade to all existing owners. That means if you already own Metro Exodus on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, whether digitally or on disc, you will be able to upgrade to this enhanced version on the next generation on consoles for free.
And if you’ve yet to pick up the game on Gen 8, you can do so safe in the knowledge you will get the enhanced version for free should you upgrade your console in the future.
